  • Lead charge on Data and Digital Transformation journey for Global Drug Development for about 2500 associates in India.
  • Focus on Assets Enhancements, Intellectual Property (IP) and Patent Generations using digital technologies. Projects benefits ~$0.5B, Cost ~$0.5M, 3 potential patent/ IP filling in process.
  • Generate new ideas and innovative initiatives / projects – especially on technical aspects of Med-Tech, Data Science (AI) and Digital. Delivered operational excellence projects ~$50M lifetime saving.
  • Responsible to create global framework, operating model and culture where innovation can thrive. Launched IndiGenius as community of practice (CoP) with ~300 associates working on multiple initiatives
  • Advice for scalability of capabilities at site in India. Launched two key programs namely, Translator course for Data Science (created ~200 translators in India and replicated globally) and DIVES (Data Insights through Visual Exploration and Storyboarding) - this program won bronze prize for Brandon Hall Group excellence award in 2022

Notably launched “medicine from sky” program for Arogya Pariwar, collaborated as iNova program with Aravind Eye Hospital to create novel digital remote slit lamp (Potential IP) and multiple initiatives for Indian patients
  • Launched first academic research collaboration with Indian Institute of Science for Novartis. One project on Origami Spirometer completed (Potential IP discussions) and another Project MARS underway

  • Leader in the Deloitte Analytics practice, collaborating with Strategy & Analytics and Information Management (Technology Analytics) Practices, Audit and Tax Analytics. The overall DA offering was $1B practice in US and about $5B globally. Deba was the chair for the Analytics Executive Committee / Council in India which was responsible for ~4000 people in India
  • Driving leadership across human capital functions and offerings in areas like Talent, Performance and Rewards, Learning and Capability development, where Deba managed ~1000 people
  • Demonstrate functional expertise in variety of analytics project with wide range of domains and industries like workforce (HR) analytics, risk management, life-sciences, health care analytics, retail analytics, telecom analytics, insurance analytics, big data analytics, marketing analytics and consumer business analytics

Accomplishments

· Established ground up many services, offerings, and practices throughout my career:

o India’s first actuarial outsourcing group as GE Insurance, establishing ~50 associates and creating an actuarial development career path to fellow actuaries (technical)

o Set up the actuarial consulting practice for Deloitte, ~100 practitioners including fellows and associate actuaries

o Established multiple new offerings around advance analytics like insurance analytics, workforce (HR) analytics, business simulations, data science and artificial intelligence offerings around retails, telecom and life sciences for Deloitte. Cumulative ~$35M top line impact by the initial sales, further strategized growth engines and new offerings to result in more than 20% year-on-year growth every year. The practices and offerings add up to ~$500M today

o Initiated the “Go-to-Market” strategy for analytics offerings in the Indian market. Influenced India CEO, did business development and created business for the Indian market, leading to ~INR 5Cr business annual.

o Established Innovation practice for Novartis, with 3 new patents / IP fillings within 3 years of establishment. Potential asset enhancement of ~$0.5B


· Extremely focused on building capability for the team and up skilling by launching various programs for the companies I have worked:

o Translator for data science: Hands on program where leaders can bring in business problems which can potentially be solved by data science techniques and train them to translate their business problem into data science problem statement, input data translation, performance and implementation translation.

o DIVES: Conceptualized a targeted program for Clinical Data Operations – called DIVES (Data Insights through Visual Exploration and Storyboarding) - this program won the bronze prize for the Brandon Hall Group excellence award in 2022 and is replicated in various LF’s at Novartis.

o Deloitte Difference: Dean for the Mid-Management leadership training @Deloitte – A simulation program for the 100+ mid-managers every year to train on management techniques, relationship building and story building techniques

o Dean for the Human Capital Fundamentals – A simulation program for the new hires of the human capital (HC) practices

o Client Service Experience for new hires at Deloitte Consulting focused on leadership, professionalism and client service


· Conceptualized, developed, facilitated, and instituted Deloitte Analytics Summit. A road map and strategy for 3 years built and executed to improve Deloitte branding in this space. 1st year ~300 footfall increased to ~2500 in 3 years and started to focus as client summit thereafter as an annual event called Future of AI

· Under corporate CSR, sponsored “Early Detection of Leprosy using AI” – Application with Algorithm is ready, and paper published by Indian Leprosy Journal (and conference) in Oct 2022

Published, and presented multiple (~50) thought leadership which has been recognized by many international bodies like CAS, SOA, GCA, NASSCOM, IIM A, ISI, IIT, Cypher, 3AI etc. Topics ranging from predictive modeling to data science application of such techniques in Indian market, and from business analytics, customer segmentation, insurance analytics, actuarial, nudge theory etc. to outsourcing strategies.

· Received the highest performance award for any GE business - Summit Award for managing my peers in absence of the immediate manager, and his supervisor. Carried out the growth plan without any hiccups.
