- Gather actuals: Pull revenue, COGS, operating expenses, and other financial data from your ERP or accounting system.
- Compare vs plan: Use vertical and horizontal analysis to assess variances in revenue, gross margin, and net profit.
- Variance commentary:
Highlight favorable variances (e.g., higher sales, lower costs).
Explain unfavorable variances (e.g., missed targets, unexpected expenses).
Include root causes: market shifts, operational delays, pricing changes, etc.
Suggest corrective actions or forecast adjustments. - also work on Journal Entry (JE) process and ensure accurate expense allocation to specific teams or departments:
- I perform the tasks of updating the Monthly Billing Report (MBR)
- I also perform the Bonus Audit on a quarterly basis and generate reports of each producer to highlight the cost and revenue generated by the front office team.
- Working on FP&A activities like True-up process, segment changes entries in RAFT, currency rate update for CAD in RAFT for Prior Year and future years, update provisional numbers in RAFT (Revenue Analysis and Financial Tool) and work on presentations to highlight Revenues and Expenses for a respective month, do a comparison with prior year for the management. Update management reports and decks required for monthly meetings. Generate Forecast reports monthly and send it to management for further processing.
