  • Company Overview: The Apollo Hospital in Chennai is a 650 bedded hospital which is accredited by the Joint Commission International (USA) and declared a ‘Centre of Excellence’ by the Government of India.
  • Being a registrar, we not only manage sick patients, do our usual administrative duties and maintain a daily patient census, but also train the junior doctors to manage common emergencies and perform important ER procedures on a daily basis, while supervising them.
  • We see a variety of patients of different nationalities with various medical conditions especially from cardiology, neurology, orthopedics and trauma and can effectively communicate with them.
  • I manage all emergencies presenting to our ED unsupervised and once initial stabilization is done; I am able to competently involve the appropriate department in the further management of patients or effectively communicate with the patients and relatives about safely discharging a patient from the ED.
  • Working under pressure is something I enjoy doing after the rigorous medical training that I have received to date.
  • Any special or problematic cases are immediately discussed with the head of the department.
  • Since our hospital is JCI-accredited, I am aware of the international standards and requirements for documentation, patient safety goals, and targets to maintain for emergency procedures and auditing.
