(A) INTERNAL MEDICINE
Total 6 terms, from October 2020 to July 2023 (total: 15 weeks) at SVP Hospital as a medical student. .
Outline
- As a fourth year student, I provide clinical assistance and learning procedure for patients with medicine related conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing essential clinical care in medicine ward at SVP Hospital.
- Working with patients of Cardiac disease, Gastroenterology disease, Respiratory, neurology, Infectious disease .
- ·Taking history, consulting with patients, explaining procedures and ensuring informed consent from patient.
- Measuring vitals as temperature, pulse rate, blood pressure, respiratory rate under supervision.
- ·Taking blood samples for pathological testing, blood culture, arterial blood gas and venipuncture while supervised.
- Carrying out electrocardiograms and intravenous cannulation under direct supervision.
- ·Ensuring optimum personal hygiene and follow aseptic precautions to reduce risk of infection.
- ·Maintain confidentiality and ethical integrity when speaking to patient and family.
- Reviewing test results and responding to feedback from mentor.
- Analyzing data from tests, learning to reach differential diagnosis and to reach final diagnosis from mentor.
(B) SURGERY
- Total 4 terms, from 2020 to 2023 (Total: 21weeks) at SVP Hospital as a medical student.
Outline:
- As a fourth year student, during rotation in surgery unit , I worked with diverse patients who had wide range of surgical disease.
Key Responsibilities:
- To work with surgeons and clinical staff for patient with various surgical conditions.
- History taking, clinical examinations, investigations and learn to reach final diagnosis with mentor
- Pre operative assessments, intra operative and post operative care of surgical patients under supervision.
- Shadowing surgeon in surgical operation theatres for surgical operations like hernia, hydrocele, cyst removal, breast surgeries, Gastrointestinal surgeries like appendectomy, gall bladder removal, abscess drain and wound injuries.
- Superficial skin suturing under observation of mentor.
(C ) OBSTETRICS AND GYNECOLOGY
- Total 5 terms, from 2020 to 2023 ( Total: 21weeks) at SVP Hospital as a medical student .
Outline :
- As a fourth year student, worked in Obstetrics and gynecology ward for diverse conditions of patient in anti natal clinics, labour room, obstetric ward and gynecology ward.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend antenatal clinics at SVP hospital
- Explain various health awareness programs run by Government for maternal mother to reduce the risk of maternal mortality and well being of mother and child.
- Shadowing in labour rooms for normal delivery and assisted delivery.
- Shadowing in Obstetric Operation theatre for LSCS.
- Shadowing in Gynecology Operation theatre for hysterectomy.
- Attending rounds in Obstetrics and gynecology ward for post operative care.
(D) PAEDIATRICS
Total 3 terms, from 2020 to 2023 (Total: 10 weeks) at SVP Hospital as a medical student
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend Pediatrics OPD, attend rounds in ward, taking history, clinical examination, vitals with mentor.
- Attend Immunization clinic at SVP hospital.
(E) PSYCHIATRY
Total 1 terms, from 2021 to 2023 (Total: 2 weeks) at SVP Hospital as a medical student
Key responsibilities:
Attend Psychiatry OPD and wards with mentor, taking history, clinical examination of patients. Attend rehabilitation centre at SVP hospital.
