- This experiment has shown that the use of salt in curing exhibits two crucial properties: its ability to dehydrate and its bacteriostatic effect, making it ideal for leather processing.
- The prevalent use of this cost-effective and easily obtainable application for long-term skin preservation, specifically within tanneries, poses a considerable ecological risk as it releases approximately 340-450 kg of salt per ton of processed leather into the environment through tannery effluent.
- Developed and implemented an effective strategy to minimize TDS levels in tannery effluents, focusing on eco-friendly preservation.
