Analytical Experience

  • MALDI-TOF (Applied Biosystems 4800 PLUS MALDI-TOF analyser): The mass of the monomers and polymers was determined by the MALDI-TOF analyser using dihydroxybenzoic acid and other matrices.
  • UV-Visible (Perkin-Elmer, Lambda 45): The absorption maxima of the polymeric aqueous solutions and drug-loaded polymer nanoparticles were studied by UV-Visible spectroscopy.
  • NMR (400-MHz JEOL NMR spectrophotometer): Structural characterizations of the organic compounds were determined by 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy.
  • FT-IR (NicoletTM-380): Functional group analysis of intermediates and final products was carried out by FT-IR.
  • Fluorescence Spectrophotometer (Spex Fluorolog Horiba Jobin Yvon): Photophysical characteristics of the polymers and drug-loaded scaffolds were characterized by the Fluorescence Spectrophotometer.
  • Gel Permeation Chromatography (Viscotek VE 1122 pump, VE 3580 RI detector, VE 3210 UV/VIS detector, calibrated with polystyrene standards): The number average and weight average molecular weights of the polymers were calculated by GPC.
  • Thermal Gravimetric Analysis (Perkin-Elmer thermal analyzer, STA 6000 model): The thermal degradation characteristics of the polymers were determined by TGA. Differential Scanning Calorimeter (TA Q20): Determining the phase transitions of polymers with respect to the temperature.
  • FE-SEM (Zeiss Ultra Plus Scanning Electron Microscope): The size and shape of the nanoparticles were determined by the field emission scanning electron microscope.
  • Rheometer (Anton Paar, MCR 302): The mechanical characteristics and flow behavior of the polymers under stress were studied by the rheometer.
