• Liaise with various government ministries (MoEF&CC, CPCB, BIS, etc.), industry stakeholders, and technical experts to support policy implementation, regulatory consultations, and follow-up actions related to environmental and chemical management.
• Conduct research and analysis on environmental policies, circular economy, chemical safety, and international treaties (e.g. Chemical Weapons Convention), and provide evidence-based insights through technical briefs and position papers.
• Draft circulars, background notes, sections of reports, and communications to members based on policy developments and stakeholder discussions on multilateral environmental agreements like Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions.
• Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of national-level sustainability and regulatory programs for the Indian chemical industry, including tracking progress and analysing programme outcomes to identify issues and corrective actions.
• Coordinate and assist in meetings of expert committees, government consultations, and national/international technical forums by preparing background materials, agenda notes, and post-meeting reports.
• Organise and conduct national capacity-building workshops, technical training programs, and industry awareness sessions on chemical safety, ESG, compliance, and emerging sustainability frameworks.
• Represent ICC at seminars, stakeholder consultations, and multi-stakeholder dialogues; deliver technical presentations and moderate technical sessions.
• Support budget planning and reporting for training programs like safety and environment for the chemical sector with the support of the Government of India, including preparation of work plans, progress updates, and funding and utilisation reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Providing technical briefings on international frameworks by preparing agenda notes and post-meeting reports on Global Frameworks on Chemicals, UNFCC COP contribution through International Council of Chemical Associations Leadership groups on topics like safe chemical management, sustainable development, and the Responsible Care initiatives.
• Provide technical and administrative support to the CWC Helpdesk (under the National Authority – Chemical Weapons Convention, NACWC), assisting industries in filing Annual Declarations on Past and Anticipated Activities (ADPA/ADAA); plan and undertake outreach activities including the organization of training workshops, awareness programs, and seminars on topics such as chemical safety, security, and regulatory compliance; deliver presentations and technical inputs during such engagements.

1. Health, Safety, and Chemical Risk Management Projects

• Participated in the planning and implementation of health and chemical safety management projects across operational units; supported integration of site-level HSE procedures into broader corporate frameworks.
• Conducted incident analysis (near misses, injuries, chemical spills), identified root causes, and proposed corrective/preventive actions as part of continuous improvement initiatives; findings were reported to both site and headquarters.
• Developed and executed contractor safety management protocols, including issuance of work permits (hot work, height work, lifting, etc.), conducting site inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and procedures.
• Coordinated regular capacity-building activities such as toolbox talks, monthly contractor safety meetings, safety week observances, and emergency response drills.

2. Sustainability and ESG Integration Projects

• Led the implementation of EcoVadis sustainability rating improvement project, including documentation alignment, internal gap assessments, and coordination with functional leads for evidence submission.
• Provided data support and analysis for ESG disclosures in line with GRI Standards, TCFD, UNGC, CDP, and SASB frameworks; developed baseline Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG inventories for corporate climate action planning.

3. Environment and Compliance Projects

• Coordinated environment-related project activities including acquisition and renewal of statutory permits: Consent to Establish/Operate (CTE/CTO), Hazardous Waste Authorization, MoEF&CC Environmental Clearance, and CRZ clearances.
• Contributed to environmental performance improvement projects by assessing impacts from contractor activities, proposing mitigation measures, and monitoring implementation.

• Participated in laboratory scaled projects for the treatability studies of effluent streams from various industrial operations; supported the design, erection, and commissioning of pilot plants for wastewater treatment trials.

• Conducted daily monitoring and chemical analysis of samples from pilot plants to assess treatment efficiency and optimize process parameters. Supported the optimization of chemical usage in ETP operations by evaluating alternative dosing techniques and identifying opportunities for resource efficiency and cost reduction.
