  • Providing leadership to the implementation of World Bank supported Tejaswini Project aimed at socio-economic empowerment of Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) in Jharkhand, the largest and the unique adolescent girls program globally;

  • Implementation of Child Rights Protection Program in the State of Jharkhand
  • Developed program models to be implemented in districts for Community based Management of Severe Acute Malnutrition in Children (CM-SAM) on the basis of evidence generated through multi locational pilots conducted in the State
  • Developing nutrition leadership at sub-district levels to create mal-nutrition free geographies in the State devising area approach for alleviation of mal-nutrition in the State of Jharkhand
  • Provided successful operational leadership to Tejaswini Project, the largest program intervention globally on socio-economic empowerment of adolescent girls
  • Created a huge platform of Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) with 1.2 million girls participating in about 12800 versatile and multidimensional Youth Clubs, through very strong community mobilization
  • Developed one of its unique kind of life skills curriculum including that on Health and Nutrition to be imparted to the AGYW to prepare them as change agents to break the inter-generational cycle of mal-nutrition
  • More than 10,000 AGYW youth clubs were facilitated to create Sanitary-Pad Banks to bring a significant nutrition and health behavior change in about a million adolescent girls
  • As a pioneer effort, developed the Bridge Education Curriculum to facilitate the 50,000 school drop-out AGYW to get secondary level education through NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) mediated system, as part of empowerment program
  • Created mechanisms and processes to improve the institutional and non-institutional systems to ensure protection of rights of children in the State of Jharkhand
  • Provided major push to achieve the SDG in the State through Tejaswini, Poshan Abhiyan and State Nutrition Mission

  • Facilitated the development of ICDS Common Application Software (ICDS-CAS) in collaboration of Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), as a tool for ICT-RTM

  • These District Health Action Plans contained GIS based strategic infrastructure planning and specific plans for comprehensive service delivery and efficient monitoring
  • Innovative implementation of Janani Suraksha Yojana that provided for ensuring ANC Check-ups of the pregnant women and complete immunization of the child
  • More than 300,000 pregnant women were brought under JSY in the very first year of its implementation
  • Development of Sarv Swasthya Yojana, the model of health care service delivery through Public-Private-Partnership
  • System of requirement based decentralized system of drug procurement was put in place by instituting a rate contract for major 78 drugs on the basis of World Bank procurement guidelines

  • Conceptualized the National Horticulture Mission – a Government of India sponsored integrated horticulture development scheme - in the State of Jharkhand and developed the integrated area specific plan for 10 districts of the State after a broad base consultation with technical institutions, NGOs and other development partners
  • Raised $7.0m from Government of India for the implementation of this plan during 2005-06
  • Facilitated the development of cluster based multicropping bankable projects in the horticulture sector with technical cropping inputs form Indian Council of Agriculture Research and Cost structure inputs from National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development
  • Developed the financing pattern for such projects providing finance from Government of Jharkhand, Commercial and rural banks and from group of entrepreneurs on a sharing basis

  • Management of natural Forest Resource spread over an area of 1100 Sq Kilometers
  • Livelihood creation for the forest dwelling communities
  • Organized the reclamation of 300 ha of degraded forest with the involvement of local communities
  • Conceptualized the community inclusive models of natural resource management, developed the innovative community participatory plan for protection of natural forests from forest fires and implemented it successfully to bring a paradigm shift in the policy of forest protection from fires
  • Developed Community and area specific development micro plans, to be funded by World Food Program, UN, for creating livelihood avenues for the communities and ensuring proper natural resource management
  • Developed permanent hi-tech nurseries in the area affected by naxal extremism
  • These nurseries with capacity of producing over 0.5 million plants annually, created reservoir of planting material and helped easing the tense situation prevailed in the area previously by means of providing sustainable livelihood to the local communities
  • Organized the local youths into voluntary groups highly sensitive to the natural resource conservation
