Manager/Chief Manager/DGM

03.2007 - 03.2021
  • From 2007 to 2011, worked in Rajasthan Project at Jodhpur as Finance Manager dealing with JVC accounting of exploratory blocks under Rajasthan Project.
  • Had to do the accounting work under the provision of PSC and JoA for both OIL operated and non operated blocks. Used to prepare budgets, get them approved by OC members, partners and lastly MC members. Used to raise cash calls and receipt of cash calls, attended OC meetings as Finance representative and completing other formalities as well as attending meetings with DGH officials and helping MC members during the MC meetings.
  • Preparation of JVC accounts and submission of the same to OIL Finance Dept. to add it to OIL's accounts.
  • A new cell was formed in 2011 in Corporate Office, OIL to oversee the implementation of the terms and conditions of PSC/RSC and JoAs for all JVC fields under OIL, which was named the Central Exploration Monitoring Group (CEMG), and I was inducted into that group as Finance Head to look after all financial as well as commercial activities.
  • As Head Finance, my job was to oversee whether in all blocks, OIL was following all financial as well as commercial compliances correctly.
  • My job was also to guide OIL in formulating correct calculations/ policies so that the conditions of PSCs and RSCs are fulfilled viz calculation of unfinished work programme, applying for block extensions, dividing between admissible and inadmissible expenditures etc. In rapidly changing contractual regimes in different bidding periods in PSCs and RSCs, it was my duty to discuss and guide the changed scenarios with OIL Management and to implement the same effectively in all JVs under OIL.
  • Regularly dealing with DGH and State Govts. to comply with the regulatory aspects of PSC/RSCs.
  • Worked for offshore block in KG basin by preparing budgets, getting all formalities completed, establishing new office and employing office staffs, establishing other infrastructures like arrangements of godown in port area, arranging for helicopter services and other support services, appointing legal consultants etc.
  • From 2015 to 2018, I was also involved in implementing OIL's Myanmar Project, I was the Finance as well as Commercial in charge. I used to deal with Myanmar Oil & Gas Enterprise (MOGE), an equivalent to DGH in India, for the implementation of all terms and conditions of the PSC and JoA. As it was a foreign JVC, the job there was quite challenging. But, as I had lots of experience in JVC work, I did not encounter much problem except for language problem.
  • Before my joining in CEMG cell, well insurance under JVC was not followed meticulously and that too was unorganised. I have purchased coverage from a Insurance Company centrally based on the well cost of all the wells drilled under OIL. It helped to handle the same effectively and a very nominal price.
