  As a clinical attachee in the Neurology Department of University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire under the guidance of Dr Thomas ,I got a wonderful oppurtunity to be a part of the Medical Team in various aspects of patient care and departmental operations. As It was my first exposure to the NHS , It helped me a lot to understand the system and its functioning Here are some Duties I had.
  
  CLINICAL OBSERVATION AND SHADOWING
  Observe neurologists and other healthcare professionals during patient consultations, examinations, and procedures.
  Shadow senior staff to learn about the diagnosis , management of neurological conditions and to understand the system better.
  
  PATIENT CARE ASSISTANCE:
  Assist with patient assessments, including taking medical histories and performing neurological examinations under supervision.

  Provide basic patient care, such as taking vital signs and ensuring patient comfort.

  As the department which handles many emergency situations like Gastrointestinal bleed , Hepatic Encephalopathy , Acute pancreatitis , Terminal Cirrhotic Patients etc , I had various responsibilities that contribute to patient care and was also actively involved in Teaching Sessions and Mentoring of Medical Students

  I Had the opportunity to take regular Formal as well as Informal classes to the Undergraduate students as it was a Teaching Hospital.
  Teaching sessions were based on various topics in the Gastromedicine and general topics of History taking ,System wise physical examination-mainly Gastrointestinal system .

  DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES
  Has done Blood sampling , IV Cannulations , Urethral Cathetrisations , Ryles tube insertion and Abdominal Paracentesis throughout this period.
  
  INVOLVED IN PANDEMIC ACTIVITIES
  Took duties in COVID-19 ICU on a rotational basis.
  Assisted Anesthetists and Senior Colleagues in advanced procedures like Endotracheal tube intubation , Central line insertion in COVID ICU.
  Actively involved in Covid-19 Screening , Managing Covid 19 cases in the Covid ward as well as ICU

• During the COVID-19 pandemic,As a junior doctors in primary health center , I could play a critical role in providing frontline healthcare services while also contributing to efforts to prevent the spread of the virus.Duties I had during this period of my career included:
  
  SCREENING AND TRIAGE:
  Conducted screening of patients for COVID-19 symptoms, travel history, and exposure to confirmed cases.
  Triage patients to appropriate areas for evaluation based on their risk of COVID-19 infection.
  
  TESTING AND DIAGNOSING :
  PerformedCOVID-19 testing (e.g., PCR tests, rapid antigen tests) as per established protocols.
  Interpret test results and communicate findings to patients while adhering to confidentiality guidelines.

• As an FY1 in the hospital,my duties typically included a wide range of responsibilities aimed at providing patient care, supporting medical teams, and contributing to the overall functioning of the healthcare facility.
  
  CLINICAL ROTATIONS: Had rotations through various medical specialties and departments, such as internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, psychiatry, and emergency medicine. Each rotation helped me understand regarding the particular speciality and how it works
  
  PATIENT CARE: I Was involved in direct patient care under the supervision of senior physicians. This includes tasks such as taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, assisting in procedures, prescribing medications, and developing treatment plans.
  
  DOCUMENTATION: responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records for the patients under your care. This includes documenting patient assessments, progress notes, orders, and other relevant information in the hospital's electronic health record system.
  
  BLOOD SAMPLING AND IV CANNULATIONS: Involved in performing IV cannulations , Blood sampling and other invasive procedures
