I am an experienced psychiatrist with a strong background in clinical practice, community mental health, and healthcare leadership. As Deputy Director at Aaladamara Foundation, I oversee multi-center mental health programs, ensuring high-quality psychiatric care, policy implementation, and program expansion. I manage multidisciplinary teams and spearhead strategic collaborations with government and non-profit organizations to enhance mental health accessibility and community reintegration of homeless individuals with severe mental illness.
Previously, as Psychiatrist & Program Lead at Aaladamara Foundation, I established psychiatric services at an Emergency Care & Recovery Center (ECRC), leading outreach, rehabilitation, and reintegration efforts. I provided clinical leadership in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care, while also training healthcare teams in community psychiatry and psychosocial rehabilitation.
My role as Senior Resident Psychiatrist at Sri Siddhartha Medical College and Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Medical College involved delivering specialized psychiatric care, managing acute and chronic mental illnesses, and supervising medical students and junior residents. I was actively involved in academic research, psychiatric education, and mental health advocacy programs.
During my tenure as a Consultant Psychiatrist under the National Mental Health Programme (NMHP) at Government General Hospital, Madhugiri, I provided critical psychiatric consultations in a resource-limited setting, ensuring mental healthcare access for rural populations. I led medication compliance programs, community-based mental health initiatives, and trained primary healthcare providers in mental health management.
I began my journey in psychiatry as a Junior Resident (MD Psychiatry) at Sri Siddhartha Medical College, where I gained extensive experience in diagnosing and treating severe mental illnesses in inpatient and outpatient settings. I was actively involved in crisis interventions, psychotherapy, multidisciplinary case management, and community outreach programs.
Throughout my career, I have combined clinical expertise with leadership in mental health initiatives, working across diverse settings to improve psychiatric care, drive policy reforms, and advocate for mental health accessibility and social reintegration.
