I am a DMC and UK registered doctor. My objective is to embark on specialty training in the near future within the UK, seeking to gain valuable experience and make the most of every learning opportunity. Fueled by a profound passion for my profession, I am dedicated to providing top-level care to my patients and striving for excellence in all aspects of my practice.
I rejoined my previous role as a Junior Resident in the Department of Paediatrics within the same hospital and position, with duties remaining the same as those mentioned under the description for Junior Resident, Department of Paediatrics (September 2023 – February 2024).
Everything mentioned below was performed under supervision of senior staff.
1. Helped in cannulation and blood sampling.
2. Presented cases after thorough history taking and examination.
3. Attended teaching sessions
4. Clerked patients
5. Learnt about EPMA, Vital PAC systems and the intranet.
6. Learnt to prepare notes and discharge summaries under supervision
7. Shadowed the on call consultant
8. Attended hand-over, daily ward rounds & grand rounds and MDT meetings.
9. Attended teaching sessions.
I initiated a quality improvement project (QIP) in response to reports of blood culture sample contamination in the hospital's pathology department. Observing colleagues during various sampling procedures and adherence to the five steps of hand hygiene. Following data collection and analysis, I collaborated with my supervisor and the ward's nursing incharge to organize a session discussing the QIP results and strategies for improvement.
