Dr. Tanu Dang

An avid researcher, passionate academician and inquisitive learner working in the field of Development Communication, Advertising and PR. A gold medalist from Punjabi University Patiala, she has been teaching for the past 18 years. Presently engaged as an Assistant Professor in Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University, Lucknow since last 9 years, she has also worked as an Assistant Professor in Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Chhatrapti Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur for 9 years. An avid reader, researcher and thinker, Dr. Dang has participated and presented research papers in more than 30 National and International seminars and contributed extensively to several reputed journals. She has two edited books ‘Role of Media in Promoting Right to Education’ and ‘Inclusive Growth of Minority Women through ICT’ to her credit. She has contributed towards designing Development Journalism curriculum for the students of Journalism and Mass Communication in collaboration with University of Rajasthan and UNICEF, Jaipur and has been working towards fighting misinformation as a Certified FactShala Trainer supported by Internews and DataLeads.

She was felicitated with Letter of Appreciation, 2018 by her University in recognition of her contribution towards the University, PR Professional Award 2017 by Public Relations Society of India, Lucknow Chapter, Award of Honor, 2021 by prominent NGO of Lucknow, Bazm – E – Khawatein (2021), Shikshak Samman (Eminent Teacher Award) by Government of Uttar Pradesh (2021) and Naari Aprajita Samman (2022) from Aarohan Social Welfare Foundation. Her accomplishments as an academician and her command over the subject have made her an expert speaker on various National and International platforms and panelist in various television programs as well. She has completed an ICSSR funded Minor Project on Youth Awareness on Skilling Schemes of the Government and has recently established a Centre of Rural Communication and Development in her Department under the Centre of Excellence grant of the U.P Govt.

At the administrative front she has held several important positions at her University like Cultural Secretary, Assistant Proctor, Deputy Chairperson Admission, Additional Coordinator 12B and SAMARTH and NSS Program Officer. Presently, she is the Student Counselor and member of NAAC Steering Committee at her University. She is handling all media and publication related responsibilities of the University as the Media Incharge/Spokesperson since last 8 years.
