Roles and responsibility

  • Planning of Productions: Coordination: Work closely with various levels of staff to ensure that monthly production targets and productivity levels align with ADNOC’s production goals and HSE standards.
  • Operational Management: Oversee coordination between console-DCS panel operators and field operators for both normal plant start-ups and emergency shutdowns, ensuring adherence to ADNOC production standards and safety protocols.
  • Instruction Preparation: Develop detailed shift instructions for subordinates to ensure the timely completion of tasks in accordance with defined operating procedures and specifications.
  • Field Analysis: Conduct daily field reading analyses and prepare Work Requests (WR) for corrective maintenance jobs as needed.
  • Maintenance Oversight: Follow up with the maintenance department to ensure that all preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) activities are executed according to schedule.
  • Operational Activities: Inspection and Reporting: Manage routine inspections, check logs, and maintain the shift logbook. Prepare daily production reports and direct necessary adjustments to operating units in accordance with company procedures.
  • Maintenance Coordination: Initiate maintenance work orders and coordinate with maintenance personnel to ensure that equipment needing repair or maintenance is properly isolated and made available. Facilitate timely upkeep of assets and continuous plant operations.
  • Work Permit Preparation: Prepare and approve various work permits based on priority and safety requirements. Permits include Cold Work, Hot Work, Critical Work, Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Work, Lifting Work, Confined Space, Open Process Equipment (OPE), and Radiography Work Permits Scheduled
  • Operations: Ensure execution of weekly, biweekly, and quarterly scheduled operations such as dead flushing, LO/LC field tag verification, equipment and control valve changeovers, valve integrity checks, and N2 preservation. Maintain a register for auditing purposes.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Prepare and close out Management of Change (MOC) documents for equipment modifications and Down Grade System (DGS) documents for long-term TDC bypass conditions. Record, compile, report, and document operating data while monitoring process indicators.
  • Permit Audits: Conduct permit audits and ensure compliance with ADNOC's Permit to Work (PTW) policy and company HSE standards. Process Optimization: Coordinate with process engineers and the corrosion team for process and chemical dosing optimization.
  • Work Packs: Prepare Work packs for all types of maintenance works, including Work pack checklists, risk analysis reports (FRA, JSA), schematic diagrams with PID markups, energy isolation methods, blinds IN/OUT sequence reports, and LOTO forms, adhering to company HSE standards.
  • Inspection and Checklists: Carry out vessel inspections, PSSR (Pre-Start Safety Review) checklists, and SOFO (Safety Operating & Functional) checklists for newly installed equipment and post-maintenance.
  • DCS Control: Operate the DCS control console to regulate process variables and direct the flow rates of various process and utility streams according to the prescribed schedule.
  • Planning & Budgeting: Annual Operational Budget: Contribute to the development of annual operational budgets for operational plants. Base budgets on resource and material requirements. Control all operations related to assigned units to ensure compliance with approved budgets and timelines.
  • Coordination and Preparation: Coordinate with planning, maintenance, and corrosion teams. Prepare the yearly budget for: Production/ Integrity chemicals& Consumable items.
  • Supervision of Subordinates: Organize and Supervise Activities: Oversee the activities and work of subordinates in the operation section. Ensure all work is carried out efficiently and in line with operating procedures, defined parameters, safety, and efficiency standards, and policy. Train and mentor junior staff, ensuring effective knowledge transfer for smooth production activities.
  • Manpower Planning: Participate in developing manpower plans for staff deployment. Continually monitor progress and priorities, making necessary adjustments to meet changing needs.
  • Competency and Training: Ensure team members meet required competencies. Identify training gaps and recommend appropriate training and development programs for operators. Implement training programs and evaluate individual performances. Guide and counsel staff to help them realize their potential.
  • Material Management: Monitoring Chemical Stock and Usage: Monitor field stock and usage levels of all dosing chemical drums and consumables. Ensure items are available to meet operational requirements.
  • Management of Offloading and Back-loading: Manage the offloading and back-loading of empty chemical drums, consumables items, and food items. Facilitate timely replenishment of stocks. Ensure the availability of all facilities to support operations in accordance with company procedures.
  • Preparation of Material Requisitions (MR): Prepare MR for process dosing chemicals, integrity chemical drums, sample bottles, process isolation LO/LC tags, utility hoses, portable equipment, tools, spares, and office/accommodation goods. Obtain approval from the Offshore Team Leader and Manager.
  • Logistics Coordination: Follow up with the logistics function by preparing loading requests for required materials. Facilitate timely replenishment of stocks to support operations in accordance with company procedures. Prepare and maintain the Consignment Note (CN) register for sending and receiving all kinds of materials as per management audit requirements.
  • Policies, Systems, Processes, and Procedures: Compliance and Monitoring: Ensure all subordinates follow company HR, corporate, and HSE policies. Monitor compliance with these policies.
  • Procedural Improvements: Follow up with the plant integrity team to recommend improvements to functional procedures. Support the development, implementation, and regular review of the Plant Operation Management manuals.
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOP): Prepare SOPs for pre-commissioning, commissioning, normal plant operation, equipment preparation for maintenance, and equipment restart. Coordinate with the process engineer for SOP review and updates to ensure compliance with HSE standards.
  • Standing Instructions: Prepare and ensure updates and compliance with standing instructions.
  • Adherence to Procedures: Ensure subordinates follow operating and maintenance procedures. Promote consistent and systematic application of best practices to improve operational performance.
  • Emergency Management: Supervision and Participation: Supervise and participate as the Incident Commander (IC) during emergency scenarios. Monitor all emergency situations and take prompt action. Coordinate with the Integrated Field Control Centre (IFCC) and Incident Control Centre (ICC) along with Emergency Response Team (ERT) members.
  • Duties and Responsibilities: Carry out prescribed duties and responsibilities as per company procedures during emergency situations. Minimize the impact on all assets at the process plant and utility units. Ensure strict adherence to ADNOC HSE policy and procedures.
  • Quality, Health, Safety & Environment: Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) management policies, procedures, and controls across operation plants and all assigned units. Guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/services, and responsible environmental practices.
  • Daily Safety Talks: Conduct daily Toolbox Talks for group members to promote safe job execution. Share information on Lost Time Incidents (LTI).
  • Firefighting Systems Testing: Follow up on the testing of firefighting systems according to the schedule. Coordinate with the safety engineer to ensure tests are conducted properly.
  • Incident Investigations: Participate in incident investigations and problem-solving for process units. Upkeep of Facility / Equipment:
  • Maintenance Planning and Coordination: Participate in day-to-day maintenance planning. Coordinate all activities to ensure equipment is in optimum operating condition. Minimize downtime through effective planning and coordination.
  • Environment Protection and Housekeeping: Ensure effective implementation and sustenance of environmental protection, corrosion management, and housekeeping procedures. Create a safe and clean working environment. Maintain the operational area/plant according to specified industrial standards.
  • Supervision of Contractor Staff: Coordination and Monitoring: Ensure effective coordination and monitoring of contractor staff. Endorse work carried out by contractors. Facilitate timely completion of tasks as required.

  • Procedures and Testing: Prepare procedures and execute Overall Tightness Test (OATT), High Pressure Hydro Test, water flushing, air drying, O2-free, steam blowing, chemical cleaning, and N2 preservation work. Prepare schedules/procedures for the safe introduction of hydrocarbons into the process unit.
  • Prepare checklists and execute pre-hydro walk downs and hydro tests for new pipelines.
  • Testing and Functional Checks: Conduct DCS-related Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), Safety Instrumented System (SIS) tests, and functional tests for assigned process units. Conduct Initial Plant Performance Management (IPPM) and Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) checklists for newly erected equipment and running plants.
  • Walkdown and Punch Items: Carry out Facility Completion Package (FCP) walk downs, prepare punch items, and update the databank for new equipment.
  • Logistic Planning: Prepare logistic planning for chemical/PPE items ordering and distribution/assignment to locations.
  • Reviews: Conduct Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) reviews and Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP) reviews for the process plant.
