ACADEMIC PROJECTS

Title: Design and Analysis of Morphing Wing

Period: February 2014 – May 2014

Team Size: 3

  • Morphing Wing is used to neglect the geometric discontinuity present in a conventional wing. The main objective of the project is to design and analyze the advantages of a morphing wing over a conventional wing.

Title: LEGO Laser Temperature controller

Period: December 2020 – September 2020

  • This dissertation was about designing a temperature controller system for a laser diode for a Low earth orbit satellite and optimizing the behavior of the temperature controller for space environment. The temperature controller simulation software was successfully built.

ACADEMIC COURSEWORK

  • Processed Sentinel-I Interferometric wide swath image using ESA SNAP (Satellite Remote Sensing).
  • Solved Kepler’s equation, numerical integration of equations of motion and understood satellite orbits and orbital elements, the challenges of orbit phasing and rendezvous using MATLAB.
  • Understood spacecraft attitude and investigated practical applications using Euler and quaternion-based parameterizations, and the moments of inertia cross-coupling axes and angular offsets affect a satellite’s attitude using MATLAB.
  • Platform avionics design – chose a communications system for a 12U nano satellite which is being sent into a polar Lunar orbit for imaging and successfully justified the decision.
  • Investigated the European Space Agency LEON3 Processor toolchain and simulator in Linux operating system and successfully applied an EEC code (hamming code [31,26]) in ‘C’ language for the LEON3 System on a chip.
  • Implemented B-dot Detumbling algorithm in MATLAB to detumble a satellite in orbit.
