  • Thomas Montgomery, 05/16/25, Chemistry/Mathematics Teacher, Instructor — Ivy Tech Community College Dual Credit, Assistant Football Coach Bellmont High School, 260-724-7121 Ext: 5107, montgomeryt@nadams.k12.in.us, I am writing you today to offer my recommendation of Ella Hockemeyer. I have had Ella in my chemistry classes these past two years, and have witnessed her exemplify many redeeming qualities. She is a very driven individual with a great work ethic. She is one of the few students of mine, who frequently seeks out work in advance of missing classes, and she always stays on top of things for when she’s missed. Through that, she displays a level of responsibility that I’ve witnessed to be advanced for her age. In my class, I’ve witnessed her ability to process difficult concepts, and tackle problem solving head on. She’s determined to try to figure something out on her own, but doesn’t hesitate when she realizes something is beyond her means and needs assistance. When she does ask for assistance, she does so in a mature manner, displaying an ability to communicate well with individuals older than her, and with higher levels of authority. As my courses are lab based, as well as an applied science, collaboration is a key component. She is more than ready to work with others and participate in group activities. She communicates clearly, and naturally commands contribution and input from those around her. She is an outstanding individual, and one letter does not do her justice to show all her great qualities. I have complete faith in her abilities and offer zero reservations in recommending Ella for any opportunity you can afford her. If there is any further insight you desire regarding Ella and her accomplishments, please contact me, and I will gladly provide further information.
  • Kyle Arnold, 05/16/25, High School Math Teacher, arnoldk@nadams.k12.in.us, It is my privilege to recommend Ella Hockemeyer, an exceptional student in my Advanced Calculus course. Ella's mathematical aptitude is matched only by her remarkable character and extensive extracurricular achievements. In the classroom, Ella demonstrates outstanding analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Her thoughtful questions and willingness to help classmates reflect her genuine passion for learning and supporting others. Outside academics, Ella has maintained an impressive balance of activities. As a three-year member of National Honor Society, she has demonstrated consistent academic excellence. Her athletic pursuits include four years on the varsity golf team, four years with the swim and dive team, and two years in track and field – showcasing both her versatility and commitment. Ella's leadership qualities shine through her involvement in 4-H, where she served as president during one of her four years of participation. Additionally, her dedication to community service is evident in her four years as a volunteer instructor at a youth golf camp and two years teaching Sunday School at her church. What truly distinguishes Ella is her ability to excel across diverse areas while maintaining integrity and humility. Her time management skills are exemplary, allowing her to balance rigorous academics with numerous extracurricular commitments. Ella Hockemeyer has my highest recommendation. Any institution would benefit from her academic talents, leadership abilities, and community-minded spirit.
  • Andrew Nory, 05/15/25, Head coach, Bellmont High School Swimming and Diving, I am pleased to write this letter of recommendation for Ella Hockemeyer. I have had the pleasure of coaching and getting to know her while she has participated on the Bellmont High School Swimming and Diving team for the last three years. I can confidently say that Ella is a dedicated, responsible, and thoughtful individual with excellent academic abilities and a strong work ethic in and out of the pool. Ella has been an integral part of our team and provides leadership during practices and meets. She helps younger swimmers adjust to the high school swimming environment, while maintaining a high level of performance. Ella had a health setback during the season and worked very diligently to return to her previous level, then finish the season, swimming faster than she ever had before. Ella is an excellent student that works hard in the classroom. She has shown excellent time management and communication skills while being in sports and maintaining a high scholastic level. I am confident that Ella will bring the same level of determination, integrity, and curiosity to any future academic or personal endeavor. She would be deserving of your scholarship.
