  • To Implement Preventive/Predictive maintenance program for CR1 tools ( NBS Wafer unload, LINTEC Taper, DICSO Grinder+Mounter, DISCO Stealth Dicing, DISCO Die Separator, ONTO DRAGON FLY and LINTEC UV Cure).

  • Orbit & Skyline Semiconductor services has taken the annual maintenance contract for, Semi- Conductor laboratory (SCL) 200mm Fab which is an entity of Govt. of India.
  • Semi-Conductor Laboratory is a 200mm manufacturing FAB with 180nm technology.
  • Tower Jazz semiconductor, Israel provided all the manufacturing tools and the technology.
  • SCL manufactures their own indigenous IC chips for Space exploration, Education and Railways.
  • I am responsible for the maintenance and operation of the Ion Implant & Diffusion module.
  • Implant module has three tools namely High current, High energy and Medium current (Axcelis
    NV-GSD/ HE and Varian E500) tools.
  • The Diffusion module has 9 TEL Alpha-SE tools to be maintained.
  • I am responsible for the Preventive and Corrective maintenance of all the Implant tools.
  • Able to perform the de-installation and installation of Dry pumps, Turbo pumps and Cryo pumps
    (Helium de-contamination and clod head maintenance).
  • Able to maintain the consumables and non-consumables required for the tools.
  • We are maintaining more than 85% of tool uptime for all the tools and constantly focus on MTBF
    and MTTR.
  • I will be addressing all the issues in daily action meeting that arise during the production and rectify it in a timely manner.
  • I am also acting as the safety focal and will conduct periodic audits to ensure Fab safety.
  • With limited resources we can fix the critical issues and earn the appreciation from the customer,
    since our core value is customer satisfaction.
  • I was working in Normal day shift from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm and will attend the weekend critical
    tool recovery if there is any urgency.

  • As the wafer Fabrication unit is a controlled clean room environment, it is compulsory for all to wear anti-static jump suits and hood, clean room hand gloves, hair net, face-mask safety booties, safety glass, TLD radiation badge (to detect any potential radiation transmitted to the body) and carry clean room pen and paper for the entire 12-hour shift. This is to prevent any particles or static discharge not to affect the production wafers, which will lead to a short circuit in the chip and results in wafer scrap.
  • I was an Active member of Emergency Response team (ERT). Trained in fire fighting, rescue of injured persons and provide First aid. I was deployed in a few ERT Incidents as a Strike Team to restore a safe work environment. I was also trained for backup IC (incident commander).
  • I will ensure that the workplace is maintained clean and tidy by returning the tools after the job is completed to the designated tool carts. Dispose the toxic contaminated waste immediately to the allocated bins (solvent waste bin& acid waste bin) and house keeping the work area (6S).
  • Follow the Standard operating procedure (SOP) that involves Energy isolation, before the start of the work in implant tools, where the operating voltage ranges from 800kev to 3000kev. Which involves Logout /Tagout (LOTO) to the Machine for electrical, mechanical, cooling water and pneumatic systems.
  • Had undergone annual medical examination for Chest X-ray, Blood and Urine test for any arsenic contamination, Spirometry blow test to check lung function.
  • I was certified by NATOX for Toxic Gas bottle change for Implant tools, such as Arsenic, Boron and Phosphine using SCBA (Self contained breathing apparatus). Which also involves the procedure of positive and negative pressure leak check. Also, able to handle a Variety of chemicals and gases using appropriate PPE.
  • Performed machine PM and CM (cleaning of machine parts and chambers) by lint free cloth wetted with chemicals like IPA (isopropyl alcohol), H202 (Hydrogen peroxide) and D.I water.
  • I was the pioneer batch of a newly started wafer fabrication unit FAB10N and FAB10X, helped in the installation of new Machines, tool qualification and released for production on time.
  • Undertook vendor training and certified in VIISTA PLAD tool at Varian Factory, Boston U.S.A.
  • Involved in recording, logs and updating Pass-down files, Equipment Tracking Interface, Equipment check lists, Tool View, Data Navigator, SPC Charts, KPI, Clean and Inspection
    Checklists, 6S audits, Risk Assessments, OHS and M-Tag follow-ups.
  • Performed Installation, Testing, Modification and commissioning works of Motors, Switch gears,
    Relays, Sensors, Pneumatics, Turbo pumps, Vacuum rough pumps, Cryo-Pumps, Scrubbers, Circuit breakers, Industrial Robotic system, Robot arms, control panel and power panel of Ion Implanter machines such as VARIAN VIISta 810, VIISta HCS, VIISta 3000XP, VIISta Trident and VIISta PLAD tools.
  • Involved in Checking and Testing Industrial electronic components (hall probe PS, analyzer magnet PS, corrector magnet PS, filter magnet PS, source magnet PS, filament PS, Bias PS, Acceleration/Decel PS, Focus PS, Extraction PS, Suppression PS, Plasma flood gun PS) and other simple Electrical and Electronic circuits.
  • Able to understand the electrical circuit diagrams given which the diagrams show how the components are connected.
  • Involved in the calibration of Profiler Faraday, Analyzer magnet unit, Scanners, Extraction/Suppression voltage conditioning, Acceleration column conditioning and end station wafer transport alignment check in the Implanter tools.
  • Involved in teaching the end station wafer handling buffer robot, using the Teach pendent. Calibrate the robot for Theta, Z & Track axis using various commands like jogging, inching and absolute position record.
  • Involved in comparing various results on hand with the specifications and records. Analyze test results on defective units to determine the cause of failure. E.g., LED/HED test in High-energy tool after Tandetron PM, Beam spectrum after gas bottle change, resistivity qual and Therma- wave qual after PM&CM etc.
  • Confer with Engineers, Technicians and vendors regarding testing procedures to resolve problems.
  • Involved in EQCC projects to make improvements to the Equipment and whereby reducing the unscheduled down time.
  • Involved in removing the Toxic roughing pumps, fore line and bellow. Where the pump is coated with Arsenic, Boron and Phosphorus residues. Used SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus) helmet and fireman suit during the operation. Followed the occupational safety standards and used appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment).
  • Trained in Implant Process Tech and able to handle all the process related issues during production. (React for OOC/OOS and E3 alert Issues, Monitor the Qual MTSPC, Lot disposition, creating top-up recipes and running SWR lots).
  • Able to trouble shoot the auxiliary facility control equipments such as Chillers, Compressors, Scrubbers, D.I water Pumps and dry pumps.
