The Behavioral Health Specialist at Wabash Valley Correctional Facility utilizes recreational and social activities to promote skill-building and problem-solving, working towards the achievement of treatment goals for incarcerated individuals, particularly those housed in the Mental Health/Special Needs Unit. This role involves facilitating group sessions that focus on various therapeutic techniques and coping strategies, all aimed at enhancing the well-being of patients within a multi-disciplinary treatment team.

As a reentry coordinator, daily tasks included connecting inmates with providers who would assist them after release, attending and participating in local reentry councils with mentors, preparing fundraisers, and controlling/organizing monthly reports. Every morning, I taught rehabilitation programs/classes offered through the Department of Corrections, conducted risk assessments to determine the most effective programs for individual inmates, and assisted in preparing offenders for post-release by finding housing and occupational opportunities and obtaining social security cards. I also attended local reentry council meetings, prepared fundraisers, and controlled/organized monthly reports and records.

As a sales associate at Maurice's clothing retail establishment, I interacted with customers and provided information about products, sales, and rewards. While maintaining a clean and well-organized space, I restocked display items within the store and held a cashier position. As a sales support, I organized the stock room and readied merchandise to be moved to the sales/store floor. I managed shipping and receiving services, tagged and labeled items for inventory purposes, and arranged merchandise for a helpful workflow and fast retrieval.

As a resident assistant or resident care partner, I was responsible for helping residents complete daily tasks such as fun activities, exercise classes, eating, and bathing while maintaining care records for the facility. I also contributed to transporting patients to medical appointments and assisted residents' families with general information or offered support in times of need. Occasionally, I would give potential residents and their families tours of the facility and its offerings to ensure they choose the place for their family member.

At Stoll's Country Inn and Buffet, I performed as a hostess, cashier, and customer service. I assisted with catering orders and waited tables as needed. Occasionally, I would organize social events for large parties.
