Born in India, and raised in Malaysia, I displayed a passion for filmmaking and the cinematic arts at an early age. For my Bachelor's, I studied in Paris, France at EICAR: The International Film and Television School of Paris for 3 years, then obtained a Master's in Film Studies at the University of Kent: Paris School of Arts and Culture over an additional year.
In France, I wrote and directed several short films, with many of them garnering awards and recognition in festivals around the world. Working on these projects gave me great insight into the collaborative process of filmmaking, and furthered my ambitions to write and direct feature-length films.
I have also gained industry experience through my work as an editor for hire for other independent filmmakers and as a P.A on various feature films and television shows, shot in Berlin, Denmark, France and India. In the fall of 2019, I was fortunate and honored to serve as assistant editor for Pan Nalin's "Last Film Show" - India's official entry for the 95th Academy Awards. The work primarily involved organizing, logging and reviewing rushes in accordance to the chief editor's workflow. Moreover, I also served as offline editor on set for various Indian commercials, including ads for the app "Pataa" which have amassed almost 200 million views on YouTube.
Furthermore, I was employed at Viacom18 Studios for one year as an "Associate Producer" where I was involved in content creation, development and talent management. I was also present in several writers' rooms on a creative capacity.
Moving forward, I intend to further develop my skills as a storyteller and keep seeking opportunities to work and collaborate in a professional, industry environment.
