  • Portrait Mobile Monitoring System is a first generation complex system designed to meet the needs of Continuous vital signs monitoring of patients in a Med Surge ward in hospitals. This system consists of 48 miniature hand held monitoring devices that receive data via wireless sensors connected to patients. Data is transmitted through Wi-Fi to On-Prem Edge platform which aggregates, stores and processes data before sending it to Central Viewer workstations where the data from 48 monitors is aggregated and viewed (24 patients per workstation). The system consists of three subsystems (Hubs and Sensors for data acquisition, On Prem Edge for storing data, Central Viewer for aggregating and sharing data). The program had a team size of 140+, developed in three global sites for a period of 6 years with Bangalore team owning On-Prem Edge based on Edison Health Link Platform, Systems Engineering , System Test Automation and Reliability.
  • Defined and realized System Reliability Plan for Portrait Mobile.
  • Defined a 3 layered reliability growth strategy for a complex portrait Mobile system, focusing on system-level testing under real-world and extreme conditions.
  • Adapted GEHC Design for Reliability Process which defines product reliability requirements including the customer focused metrics like IPTM (Incidents Per thousand Monitoring hours).
  • Established and monitored Critical to Quality (CTQ) metrics and performance benchmarks (e.g., waveform latency, alarm response times, CPU/memory utilization).
  • Laid out strategy to cover stress and accelerated life test scenarios simulating network impairments, power failures, and high-load conditions across 48-bed system.
  • Led the development of Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT) workflows to simulate 7 years of usage within 3 weeks.
  • Coordinated cross-functional validation using exploratory and scripted recovery scenarios to verify system behaviour during network outages, server restarts, and device reboots.
  • Utilized automated data collection and visualization tools (e.g., Longevity and HALT dashboards) for continuous monitoring and analysis of system health.
  • Designed and Implemented Sub System Test Automation Strategy for On-Prem Edge Platform.
  • Developed dockerized tool for establishing auto connection of portrait hub and viewer to Platform at scale (48 beds & 8 Viewers) extendable to any multi bed solution.
