• Working as a component & vehicle level test engineer, validating functional robustness of engine mounts, bushes & other structural elastomer parts for NVH tests in Vehicle testing department, ERD-VT, MSIL
• Responsible for development of NVH related elastomer parts & testing of parts at component, vehicle level at all stages of project development
• Evaluating & testing the vehicle tactile vibrations by optimizing the elastomer parts by its design & damping characteristics
• Root cause analysis of abnormal noises (especially BSR issues) caused by engine mounts, interior trims & other structural elastomer parts by evaluating & optimizing its performance & design characteristics
• Developing elastomer parts along with supplier by improving its material damping property to address booming & road noise issues at vehicle level
• Coordinating with different suppliers & standardizing a test methodology for all the structural elastomer parts with respect to NVH functional parameters & increasing the drawing specification robustness
• Responsible & in-charge for elastomer parts lab & BSR lab in maintaining & upkeeping to minimize the facility downtime
• Evaluating the tests on vehicle level BSR issues & data analysis of parts using LMS software to understand the transfer path for root cause identification
• Coordinating in acquiring the new road inputs based on the market complaints for structural elastomer parts which helps in identifying the new test specification for resolving the issues & increasing the drawing robustness
• Developing & suggesting design, material inputs to supplier along with the design team based on the MBD simulation data for conventional & hydraulic mounts

SIGNIFICANT PROJECTS

• Developing a testing methodology for cavitation noise & membrane hitting noise for engine mounts at component level
• Developing a part by studying its impact on sub-zero temperatures & tweaking the elastomer material by introducing HRC (Heat Reflective Coatings), high damping materials to attain an optimum performance for the betterment of vehicle NVH.

• Validating structural and functional robustness of Engine mounts, body mounts, bushes & suspension elastomer parts in Materials Engineering department, ERC, TML at Pune, India
• Preparing component specific DVPs based on DFMEA as per the stage & maturity of a project
• Maintaining testing concerns list & status, daily report of durability test components and part coverage details in vehicle level testing
• Maintaining testing methodology sign off sheet for structural elastomer parts with supplier and CFT team, which includes fixture details, test cycles and load cases etc
• Preparing performance and durability reports for the elastomer parts (engine mounts, bushes etc.) for final clearance
• Tracking of component status with supplier for component level validation as per DVP and with internal teams for vehicle level validation to complete before gateway
• Handling various types of durability and performance test rig from different suppliers M/s. Instron, M/s. STS, M/s. BISS and up keeping the maintenance, calibration activity regularly
• Maintaining rig utilization chart for current parts & making plan for future projects
• Developing and suggesting durable, damping materials by improving rubber recipe through compounding with supplier according to vehicle requirements with internal teams NVH, designers etc
• Coordinating with outside test agencies like ARAI, auto cluster for performance and durability testing activity in terms of fixture preparation inputs to complete the component level validation on time
• Derivation of durability specification from RLDA data with the help of nCode software considering elastomer material property, geometry etc
• Preparing material analysis report & participating in issue resolution meeting with development team to elucidate the failure and suggesting corrective actions
• Preparing validation timeline for complete evaluation of a project before ESO.

SIGNIFICANT PROJECTS

• Developing Nano-silica doped elastomer to increase the performance of engine mounts & other elastomer parts etc.
• Developed new testing methodology (dual mount testing) for the durability of engine mounts, durability fixture for torsional vibrational dampers & stiffness measurement for suspension bushes.
• Evaluating benchmarking parts with comparison of TML parts at new as well as old condition in terms of performance & durability in rig level and suggesting inputs to design team by studying design.

• Understand engineering requirements of engineering components like bushes, mounts etc & developing compound, product testing for all rubber to metal bonded parts.
• Hands on experience in different types of equipment’s (TGA & FTIR) & analyzing the test result in material level with third party test agencies.
• Validation of raw materials & trouble shooting in production process.
• Value engineering, compound standardization in existing parts and process by compounding, optimizing process like mixing, molding & extrusion
• Preparation of fixtures for test equipment according to rig and component geometry.
• Knowledge and hands on experience in performance and durability equipment’s like UTM, Dynamic servo, bush endurance tester etc.
• Attended training on quality tools SPC, APQP, PPAP etc.

• Compounding almost all types of specialty elastomers like FKM, AEM, ACM, HNBR etc. & product development to suit drawing requirements for new parts.
• Compound developed for resilient mounting for M/s. TVS and with required stiffness at axial, Radial, conical and torsional directions and durability.
• Compound developed for M/s. Volkswagen mat beige color with stringent specifications like fogging & odor.
• Did a Cost reduction on NBR-PVC/CSM hoses that saved Rs.1.5cr/annum for the company.
