    Research

    • Doctoral Project, July, 2012-Aug, 2019, Deformational History of the Neoproterozoic Sirohi Group of Rocks, around Sirohi, Rajasthan, India, Prof. T.K. Biswal, IIT Bombay, Research, aimed to reveal the deformation history of the shear zone, along with the tectonic evolution of the Neoproterozoic Sirohi Basin, Rajasthan, India. Field study carried out for identification of structures, mapping of structural features and lithological boundary. Microscopic studies have been carried out for mineral identification and microstructural analysis. Thermometric analysis has been done by analyzing C-axis of quartz and grain size of recrystallized quartz grains. Three types of structural elements viz. deformed porphyroclasts, recrystallized grains and oblique foliation, are used for doing vorticity analysis. The comparison of the results gave valuable insight into deformation history. EPMA dating has been done on samples from shear zone and samples from Erinpura granite, both the results have been compared for understanding deformation.
