Project: Uranium Project of ONGC Energy Centre (OEC) is engaged in exploration of subsurface mineralization of Uranium in sedimentary basins of India amenable for exploitation through In-situ Leaching (ISL) on commercial scale. The project relies on study and analysis of Logs recorded (Gamma Ray/Spectral Gamma Ray) by ONGC at shallower depths for Hydrocarbon exploration and development.

Responsibility:

Working with ONGC as a Geologist for Exploration of uranium and Helium in various Sedimentary Basin of India. Team leading with involvement in project management, co-ordination and provision of all aspects of field/drilling operations and Petro-physics within a multidisciplinary technical team with following responsibilities:

• The job requires extensive browsing, interpretation and correlation of ONGC well logs using Petrel software and Shlumberger data viewer and other Geo-scientific data and finding new areas for exploration and planning of well locations within the studied sedimentary basin.
• Procurement and Tendering process of capital items etc.
• Preparation of Proposals, Scope of Work, Indent and Purchase Requisition for Drilling, Coring and Logging Contracts.
• Planning, Management and supervision of overall activity of drilling and logging operations.
• Research of Project Completion Reports, Maps
• Correlation and interpretation of Geophysical well logs of drilled wells with retrieved cores.
• Preparation of Geological Module
• Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills while conducting field work.
• Management of all aspects of project design, planning, data collection, processing, analysis and data quality control

Client: ADNOC, UAE (Mandous Project)

Project: Construction of underground Cavern of storage capacity of 42 million barrels (Total 67 km Tunneling) including 12 nos. of Cavern and various numbers of water galleries for crude oil storage in Fujairah, UAE

Responsibility:

• The work carried out face and 3D logging of tunnel, provide recommendation of Support System as per Q value estimation and 3D shape Matrix.
• Carried out Hydrological test
• To acquire the geological structural discontinuity data through OBI (optical Bore Image Test) and interpret the acquired geological data through well-cad and dips software’s.
• Supervision of Installation of Inclinometer, Extensometer and optical target and preparation of report Maintained optimal safety practices on every job site by implementing safety process.
• Worked flexible hours; night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
• Handled day-to-day running of OBI test, ensuring high levels of productivity and progression.

• To analyze the metadata of Geological documents/ Geophysical well logs, Seismic data/ Report/ Maps etc. of Exxon Mobil upstream oil and gas repositories.

• As a Well site geologist done Monitoring of drilling and logging operations. logging of cores and cuttings and report preparation. Preparation of daily progress report, arrangement of drilled cores in GI boxes and selection of core samples for petrography, petrophysical and geochemical lab studies.
• Preparation of progress status report (PSR) of the project and also make ready power point presentation for advisory and trust meeting.
• The office duty also entails preparation of Well Completion Reports, Maps and Well Log Correlation Profiles of the anew drilled wells.
• Correlating and the Analyzing results of laboratory studies such as XRF, CGR, ICP-MS and other geochemical studies
• Tendering and Procurement process of Laboratory and IT equipment etc.

Achievements

• Successful completed for Drilling, Coring and Logging operations in more than 100 Parametric wells drilled for Uranium Exploration in various sedimentary Basins of India

Worked as an engineering geologist in the hydropower and Water Resources projects. Work involvement during this period is:

• Conduct reconnaissance study of the various geological sectors including study of rock types and identifying the fragile areas, Geological mapping for highway tunnel & dam projects, logging of cores, geological investigations, calculation of tunnel engineering using NATM for the Jammu- Udhampur Project. Supervision of In-situ testing like Water Percolation test, Plate Load Test and Standard Penetration Test. Provide possible remedies in Slope stability problems along the road cut section.
• Preparation of feasibility Geological and Geotechnical reports.
• Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills while conducting field work.

Project: Hassan Dam project, Abyan Governorate, Republic of Yemen, 2013

Client: Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources, Abyan Governorate, Republic of Yemen.

Responsibility:

As Engineering Geologist, carried out geological surface mapping and subsurface Investigation, Monitored & evaluated the geophysical investigations carried out at site which includes (Vertical Electrical Sounding and Standard Penetration Test for the confirmation of sub-surface strata and idea about ground water table, etc.). To determine the Bearing Capacity of dam foundation by the “Plate Load Test” and remaining actively associated in finalizing the concrete dam foundation grade.

Project: Preparation of master Plans of Bhagirathi River Valley, Uttarakhand, India, 2012

Client: Bhagirathi River valley Authority, India

Responsibility:

Carried out reconnaissance study of the various geological sectors and identification of unstable areas in Himalayan Terrain in the catchments of Bhagirathi and Bhilangana River Valley and recommending proper development in the valley. Preparation of relevant sections of the reports

Project: Four laning of Jammu-Udhampur Road Section of NH-1, Jammu and Kashmir, India, 2011

Client: National Highways Authority of India (NHAI)

Responsibility:

Accountable to examined recent slope cuts and slide-prone/slided slopes and recommended protection measures to be adopted. Study of slope stability problem along the highway proposed for four-laning, including study of tunneling condition, problems likely to be faced during their construction and designing of tunnel supports and tunnel lining etc.

Project: Mwache Multi-Purpose Dam Development Project, Kenya, 2010

Client: Ministry of Regional Development Authority, Kenya

The Project envisages construction of 80m high Concrete Gravity Dam across River Mwache in Kenya for water supply to Mombasa area and Kwale district and irrigation in the command area located at different elevations

Responsibility:

Carried out geological mapping covering one square in the entire project area on 1:2000 scale. Gathered various structural data during the surface geological evaluation and incorporated in the geological map of the main dam.

Completed detailed Geological core logging of 19 Nos. drill holes, aggregating to 555 meters executed in the main dam, spillway areas and intake, tunnel and water treatment plant areas. Interpreted the results of the geological logging of the drill cores and the laboratory analysis of the construction materials and petrographic analysis of the core samples. Carried out Capacity Building of the counterparts by involving them in the day today tasks.

Project: Gopalpur Hydroelectric Project, Madhya Pradesh, India, 2010

Client: Narmada Valley Development Authority

Preparation of Detailed project Report for Gopalpur Hydro Electric Project which is proposed two km upstream of Bheraghat fall and 35 kms down stream of Rani Avanti Bai multipurpose project (Bargi) on river Narmada. The weir site of proposed project is located at latitude 2307'00" and longitude 79049'20" having independent catchment area 2100 sq.kms, a barrage is proposed on the Narmada river. It has been proposed to install two units of 12.5 MW each.

Responsibility:

Carried out Geological mapping, core logging and permeability testing, Assessment and availability of construction materials, data compilation and report writing.

Project: Geological and Geo-technical Investigation for Sankosh Hydro- Electric Project, Bhutan, 2010

Client: THDC, India, Private Ltd.

Preparation of Detailed project report for Concrete Dam and Hydro-Electric Power Project in Bhutan

Responsibility:

Geo-technical and Geological investigations of the project area. Assessed availability of Construction Materials, formulated and executed sub-surface exploration programme by drilling, interpretation of sub-surface geology. Prepared geotechnical report.
