  • Oversaw customer experience during ordering, loading, and delivery of materials through third-party delivery companies and guest pick-up area.
  • I honestly think one of the most important things to do in opd is basically to keep inventory of what orders you have back there. At my store we go through the bays regularly to put bad tickets/stickers back on the floor. You will have to locate new orders that come in on a location report every day. It is important to always get it done as fast as you can. There are going to be a lot of regulars so get to know peoples faces so that you know exactly what they need when they come to you. I like to try and remember where orders are so that I know exactly where they are if another department asks me about it or if a guest comes in for it. One very important thing to do is try and get to know the store and where product is placed. It makes life in opud much better because you can pull a sticker with ease. When I first started I had to ask where everything was and it took forever to find things but after a while it gets super easy and fast. As other people mentioned you need to get situated with the computer system. If you and your manager ever have free time and are just standing around ask many questions about system V. This department is super fun you just have to figure out how to do a lot of things and then its easy from there.
  • Managed delivery schedules to optimize resource allocation and efficiency.
  • Coordinated communication between warehouse teams and delivery personnel.
  • Oversaw inventory management to ensure timely order fulfillment.

  • As a Receiving/OSY Manager, I supervised and assisted with unloading, sorting, and distribution of all inventory to designated locations. This included anywhere from 5-10 semi-trucks of material every day, both in the store and to the lumberyard. This included management of up to 50+ employees at any given time, their tasks, and the customer service they provided to guests of the store. I physically and electronically received all inventory, special orders, and deliveries through external mail carriers. We also conducted inventory counts and assured accuracy throughout the store, as well as relocation of materials when new plans were submitted from corporate, usually quarterly. This also included training and re-training of employees, carrying out disciplinary action and revision of training programs, and managing expectations and tasks for the team.
