  • Oversee functioning of banks, especially Public Sector Banks. Setting up policies that manage functioning of the banks.
  • DFS is also the administrative ministry of various acts that affect banking including inter-alia the Banking Regulation Act, Reserve Bank of India Act.
  • Being Director (Banking), the supervision f potential of performances of the banks, their achievements, customer service, HR policies, appointments, promotions amongst others is taken care of by my team.
  • As a Director (Banking), i also oversee the functioning of NARCL (National Asset Reconstruction Company Limited), wherein the NPA assets of banks are transferred for resolution.
  • My Team co-ordinates with various stakeholders which include inter-alia Reserve Bank of India, various ministries, SEBI.
  • I'm also responsible for feedback flow from banks for the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016. How NCLT proceedings affect the various cases filed by banks under CIRP, admission and resolution of cases are expedited.
  • I also oversee the decorated program of EASE Reforms for PSBs. Its now into 8th year of its existence. The DFS assisted by Indian Banking Association, creates a platform for all banks to be measured for their reform agendas. This includes initiatives taken in MSME, Agriculture, Corporate lending, Customer Service, HR. The banks are also measured on the innovative technology they deploy for Analytics based lending, Big data analytics, usage of GEN AI, etc.
  • Various reviews of PSBs for their business performance are conducted by my team which is normally chaired by Hon'ble Finance Minister of India or the Secretary (DFS).
  • My team is also responsible for answering relevant questions pertaining to our allocation, raised in the parliament (both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha).

Accomplishments

In 2021, the Government of India rolled out one position for Director (Banking) in Min of Finance. The position was advertised through the UPSC. With a lot of applications filed and only one position across the country, had undergone the rigorous selection procedure as adopted by UPSC and got selected.
