These projects adhered to the waterfall methodology, a structured approach that progresses linearly through defined phases. My primary responsibilities revolved around creating authorizations for members as per the specifications outlined in the client requirement documents for each project.
As part of the software development lifecycle, I actively participated in various stages including test planning, test approach formulation, test design, test execution, and defect management.
I utilized the HP-ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) tool to streamline various aspects of the software testing process. HP-ALM served as a central hub for managing test artifacts, tracking defects, and facilitating collaboration among team members.Test Planning: Outline testing strategy, determine scope, identify resources, set timelines, align objectives with project goals, assess risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
Test Approach Formulation: Tailor detailed test approach, decide testing types, select tools, define entry/exit criteria for phases.
Test Design: Create comprehensive test cases/scenarios based on requirements, validate functionality, identify test data needs, and prepare data sets.
Test Execution: Run tests, record results, document discrepancies, verify functionality across environments/platforms.
Defect Management: Identify, document, prioritize defects, assign to development, track progress, retest fixed issues.
Overall, my involvement in these projects at BCBSNC encompassed a comprehensive approach to software testing, ensuring the quality and reliability of the applications delivered to meet the needs of clients and end-users.
