Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Respond promptly to assigned patient calls, delivering comprehensive nursing care as designated for a specific ambulance crew.
2. Conduct thorough patient assessments through a detailed history-taking process and a comprehensive physical examination and execute required diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, either under the supervision of a doctor or in collaboration with one.
3. Administer prescribed medications following the instructions of the responding physician.
4. Aid in the physical transportation of patients as necessary.
5. Complete all essential documentation and paperwork related to patient calls, filling out the patient chart with pertinent details and obtain necessary signatures on forms and waivers from patients' relatives or responsible parties.
6. Attend to the care and maintenance of the ambulance and its equipment and maintain a clean and organized interior of the ambulance, ensuring all supplies, drugs, and equipment are stored in their designated places.
7. Properly dispose of waste products on a regular basis.
8. Ensure equipment is clean, fully charged, and equipped with spare batteries, accounting for all drugs and supplies used.
9. Establish and maintain a continuous line of communication between the caller and the Red Emergency Services room, relaying all necessary information reliably between the caller, ambulance crew, and EMS Physician. Provide necessary instructions or advice to the caller as needed.
10. Record all inquiries, transactions, orders, and information relayed by patients, responsible parties, or physicians over the phone or radio.
