· Highest record LM production at SMS in the month of Mar2018 (375316 MT).

· Emissions from all shells brought down to 25mg/Nm3 from 60 mg/Nm3 with continuous improvements at bag house and Quenching Towers.

· Blowing rates at 04 shells stabilized at 230 Nm3/min within controlled emissions

· GCP improvement project commisioned from march 2018 to march 2021 to arrest roof emissions and stabilized high production rates. It involves improvements for all shells and a new GCP for Shell 4.

· At Tunnel Furnace fuel conversion project completed from NG to COG gas. This was implemented in record time with no shutdown. Mill conversion cost decreases sharply by Rs 400/ton on account of cheap COG gas availability replacing high cost NG.

· At Tunnel Furnace stationary roofs were modified which enabled maintenance to change worn out roofs in minimum time of 4 hrs from existing 8 hrs .

· Improved Quality by reducing rolled in scale defect in hot rolling as desired by the Customers.

· Reduced the roll cost to Rs 65/ton by increasing campaign life of rolls utilizing HSS Work Rolls and Forged Backup Rolls.
