Create new VLAN for multiple projects and to internal team by following up change process. VLAN creation typically includes OSPF, L2 and L3 VLAN Configuration and apply Extended VLAN Access list to VLAN to filter traffic based on project requirements on Cisco and Juniper switches.
Creation of new VLAN in Cisco SDA enabled facility by identifying free IP subnet from SuperNet, creating IP pool in DNAC and map it to respective VN, then configure created VN with user provided security DL in Cisco ISE. Avoiding manual work on VLAN mapping.
I lead RTO for past 3 years, supported many projects establishing their network connectivity by setting up VLAN and Firewall connectivity.
Troubleshooting IP Address assignment issue by using various method such as, identifying issue at L1 layer, interface configuration, helper IP configuration in L3 VLAN, DHCP configuration at server end and IP pool configuration, OSPF configuration on Cisco and Juniper Switches.
Troubleshoot frequent disconnection and slowness on intranet network by identifying interface error, switch utilization, uplink errors, metro link flap by verifying logs and route uptime.
Troubleshoot IP phone one way audio and disconnection issue by verifying bidirectional access and capture packets to identify IP or port redirection by configuring port mirroring on interface for major issue.
To optimize Voice communication for entire facility planned and configured route map to bypass firewall and allow direct communication between core switch and WAN router.
Allowing new Customer destination on MPLS network by raising Change request to allow new IP in existing BGP route map configuration in customer edge MPLS router and advertising it into cognizant network.
Troubleshoot MPLS and COLO client connectivity by analyzing hop by hop from source to destination to identify any issue at devices in-between by verifying BGP uptime, uplink flaps, Stale connections, faulty ISP connection, BGP advertised/ received routes and share end to end logs if no issue observed form cognizant network.
Configured Site to Site tunnel on Cisco ASA and router, Palo alto by raising Change request. Troubleshoot Site to Site tunnel connectivity by verifying tunnel parameters on both side and also fixing frequent tunnel disconnection by correcting SA lifetime.
New DHCP relay configuration or allowing new DHCP server in existing configuration in Cisco ASA and FTD firewall through change request.
As firewall admin, enable route, access and NAT configuration in Cisco ASA, FTD and Palo alto based on project requirement. Allowing access to particular IP/URL and port avoiding any security issues.
Troubleshoot client and cognizant connectivity issue on Cisco ASA and FTD firewall by monitoring live traffic using system trace and allow IP or port that is getting redirected.
Identified and fixed frequent disconnection/slowness issue for plain internet customer by changing Dynamic PAT IP which was over utilized and also optimizing traffic sharing forward and reverse traffic to ISP.
In Palo alto Firewall, customer was unable to access S2S tunnel destination. Verified live connection using Monitor tab in GUI or by using session command on CLI to identify packet is allowed on correct tunnel zone, routed tunnel destination pointing towards tunnel interface and mirrored exact IKE and IPSec configuration to fix issue.
Frequent Microsoft teams' issue was fixed by monitoring live connection in PA Firewall during time of disconnection and by allowing one of dependent application services.
Having brief end to end knowledge about Cognizant and Customer connectivity and training team to support their day-to-day operations.
