I am a multimedia journalist based in New Delhi, India. Over the last eight years, I have gained rewarding experience in reporting, writing scripts, shooting original videos and interviewing newsmakers.
Presently, I work for a Dubai based HIYP Media, a media company based in Hong Kong and Dubai, where I serve as the Multimedia Producer - South & Southeast Asia.
Prior to HIYP, I used to cover stories about healthcare, ecology, environment, politics, surveillance and human interest for Foreign Policy, The Intercept, Christian Science Monitor, Newlines Magazine, The Diplomat, Vice, BBC, and Al-Jazeera, besides other
leading international publications.
Earlier, I worked for the Paris-based Brut India as a producer where I covered socio-political stories.
Similarly, for Barcroft Media, a London-based media agency, I produced multimedia content for its South Asia bureau. My work for Barcroft has appeared in publications in over 60 countries and was featured in The Guardian, The Telegraph, Huffington Post, Daily Mirror (UK), TLC and RTL Germany, among others.
Some of my stories included a rare case of genetic mutilation in India, an Indian doctor who created an animal ark, two brothers in Pakistan suffering from a mysterious condition that paralyzes them after sunset, and a para-cricketer in Kashmir. These projects – and many others – were aired in the fourth and fifth seasons of the Body Bizarre series for Discovery Networks International.
In the past, I have covered the Kashmir conundrum for BBC Radio.
For Caravan, I did a story on the use of pellet guns in Kashmir and how it rendered hundreds of youth partially or completely blind during the 2016 anti-state agitation.
Additionally, my essay on one of Kashmir’s prominent human rights defenders, Khurram Parvez, was published in an anthology, A Desolation Called Peace - Harper Collins, 2019.
My expertise lies in producing content for print and web formats.
