• Developing a new One-Piece handle design to reduced production time, to increase durability and to increase IP rating from 45 to 67.
• Updated current handles by retrofitting the assembly section, resulting in an increase of IP rating from 45 to 66.
• Design and draft of wire or handle assembly as per customer requirement.
Manufacturing Design and Draft for Aircraft Engine parts, e.g. Turbine/Rotor Disc, LPT/HPT Hub/Duct, etc.
• Preparing a manufacturing process plan for Turbine Discs, HPT/LPT Hubs and Ducts as per blueprint for GE (Engine: F110 & T700), Pratt and Whitney (Engine: F100 & JT8), RR (Engine: RB211), Mitsubishi, etc., considering Process-Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (P-FMEA).
• Raw material testing selection as per part’s application for an e.g. creep, microstructure grain size, stress, fatigue, Harding process, etc. As per customer’s specification (PWA, GE, RR, Mitsubishi, etc.).
• Designed 3D Models in UG NX and the process from manufacturing to inspection stage, such as, Turning operations on Horizontal and Vertical Lathe Machines (Puma 480 & Toshiba VTL TUE-15) by segregating MOS e.g. OP 010 for Qualifying and creating starting datum as per blueprint then OP 020 to Final OP for creating roughing, semi finish and finish operations Balancing, NDT (FPI/MPI) & Spin Test on FWD and AFT side.
• Drafting of a process planned operation sheet, for multiple Mfg. operations e.g., Turning, Milling, Broaching (FIR TREE), Balancing, Inspection, etc. in UG NX CAD.
• Design and development of Fixtures for above-mentioned processes.
• Develop a Control Plan for critical mfg. and non-mfg. processes evaluated from “P-FMEA”.
• Use of a CAPA or RCA for manufacturing errors or after a catastrophic event while all processing steps.
• Preparing an ECN (engineering change note) & ECR (engineering change request) reports.
• Reviewing and guiding fellow team member's 3D models, operation sheets and fixtures designs.
• Assisting and coordinating with production team whilst entire process plan.
• Collaborated with the quality team and our manager to secure a contract and obtain First Article Test approval for a USA Government Source Approval Request part valued at $2.6 million.
