  • I started at Kimura with the construction of the building and installation of all equipment.
  • I am responsible for all the environmental permits.
  • Control of all production, maintenance, day-to-day HR functions.
  • All employees report to me except Vice President of Sales and Sales Manager.
  • I report directly to President.
  • I Approve all purchases and purchases of new equipment.
  • Meet with customers and their engineering teams for issues.
  • Our main work is Prototype and small runs for larger companies to help them with their production issues.

  • Also responsible for scheduling parts that were sent to outside machine shops to make sure they were ready when due.
  • The Customer Service and Sales Representatives and Shipping clerks were the only direct reports as Production Manager.

  • I was responsible for 27 employees from molding through cleaning, finishing, and shipping of castings.

  • Responsibilities included all aspects of making sure everything in the foundry runs, from the chemistry of the metal being correct to scheduling what is to be poured on each heat.

  • Duties included checking that all jobs are filled and calling to fill in any vacancies, checking with maintenance to see if repairs were done or needed to be done.
  • Making sure furnaces are full and slagged, and the chemistry of the iron is within specifications (adjusted as needed).
  • Checking the shells of the furnaces (45 ton) for hot spots and water temperatures of the furnaces and making sure all ladle repairs are completed.
  • Have the iron hot and ready for pouring.
