I want to work for a company that cares about me. I want to learn the ins and outs of truck driving and/or maintenance. I am hardworking and I enjoy learning new things about how I can do better at my job. I want criticism of things that I may not being doing correctly, so i can correct them.
When I applied to work for GIROD, I wasn't actually supposed to be in a driving position, I was to be in a washbay position, washing equipment temporarily, until a driving position opened up, which one did before I even started the temp position. I worked driving a truck and tanker trailer, moving liquid manure, or digestant, to and from BioTown Ag, in Reynolds, Indiana, to several different dairies ranging from 25 minutes to 2 hours in distance. While doing this I was staying in the truck from Sunday night to Friday night. I have experience doing pre-trip inspections and on-the-road repairs. I did not have experience doing logbooks, as it was under 150 air miles. It was a good experience, but it wasn't a good fit for me.
As a Service Tech at PTR, I worked with many different types of trucks ranging from a Ford F150 or Chevy Silverado 1500 up to trucks such as the Ford F750 or Freightliner M2. I experienced working with a parts warehouse on site, daily having to locate correct parts for trucks. I also had experience working on an IPad and computer to do 90% of the paperwork and things like inspections on a truck. At PTR I fixed basically everything that was damaged on a truck when it came back from being rented, everything from changing and filling fluids to brakes and tires, and even body parts, we didn't work on a truck if it had, say, damages that were warranty related, such as an engine or transmission, those were sent off to their respective dealerships, for servicing.
