Neurology Department Trainee

- Three years of neurology departmental training that covers the examination, diagnosis and management of disorders affecting the central and peripheral neurological systems
- Specialized knowledge gained in treating a variety of inpatient conditions (refractory epilepsy, neuroinfections, stroke, neuromuscular disorders with ICU and HDU care) and outpatient conditions (stroke, epilepsy, dementia, parkinsonism, and movement disorders)
- Knowledge of electrophysiology has expanded to include electromyography, evoked potentials, nerve conduction investigations, EEG, video EEG, continuous video EEG monitoring
- Experience with preoperative evaluation of patients with refractory epilepsy, diagnostic cerebral angiography, injections of botulinum toxin for dystonia, spasticity, and hemifacial spasm, and local steroid injections for carpal tunnel syndrome
- Three years of postgraduate training including OPD and IPD care with specialised skills related to Neurology ICU care, Cardiology ICU care and related emergencies along with undergraduate teaching
