As part of its thematic focus on agriculture and food security, the Foundation works for the Promotion of rural livelihoods in the agriculture and allied sectors. An important yet neglected Occupation in rural areas for small and marginal farmers and landless households is the rearing of small livestock, such as goats. Supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, AKF (India) in partnership with the Aga Khan Rural Support Program (India) has been implementing an ambitious programming Muzaffarpur district, Bihar, to transform man improve the quality of life of land less and marginal farming households through improvements in small ruminant production and productivity, increasing and strengthening the role of women in the small ruminant value chain. This is also as a MIS portal app which is right now inPhase2section.
