Job description:


  • Responsible for supervising laboratory personnel, conducting and overseeing quality assurance and quality control, analyzing, and interpreting lab results, and laboratory stock inventory management. I typically report to a Senior manager or head of a unit/department.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs & Supervision all Histopathological, Cytology, Hematology, Biochemistry, Microbiology techniques, and Clinical pathology COVID-19 RT PCR as a bench technologist approximately 75% of the time.
  • Supervision of the Swab sample collection and blood collection.
  • Reviews and integrates patient history with diagnostic results.
  • Perform and Report Clinical pathology specimens’ urine, stool, and semen analysis.
  • Can Perform good Blood Smear RBC, Total Count, and Platelets count manually.
  • Performs and documents all quality control with corrective actions.
  • Performs and documents preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Operates and maintains laboratory diagnostic equipment and ensures equipment is functioning properly.
  • Enters patient data into a computer interface for integration into the electronic medical record and retrieves data from the system.
  • Interprets complex data and communicates it effectively to providers and staff.
  • Disposes and documents the use of hazardous waste appropriately.
  • Organizes laboratory areas including general cleaning and upkeep.
  • Performs all safety inspections and adheres to safety standards.

  • Performing Quality controls for all the equipment of Hematology-Sysmex X1000i, Biochemistry-Beckman Coulter AU480, Immunochemistry -Biomerieux VIDAS, clinical pathology.
  • Performing Quality controls for Special stains.
  • Performing QC for cytology thin prep machines pre-test run.
  • Participate in External Quality control Programme Biochemistry for Vellore CMC, hematology for AIIMS Hospital.
