Work History

SCIENTIST 'SD'

ISTRAC,ISRO
05.2016 - Current
  • Worked as spacecraft controller in various spacecraft such as CARTOSAT-2S series,CARTOSAT-3, SPADEX mission
  • Monitor spacecraft telemetry parameters in real time and assess health status across subsystems (Power, AOCS, Thermal, TTC, etc.)
  • Perform day-to-day commanding operations including routine payload commanding, station-keeping, and mode transitions.
  • Analyze offline telemetry to detect performance trends and potential anomalies.
  • Planned and executed orbit maneuver operations as required for routine orbit maintenance, ensuring continued compliance with mission orbital parameters and operational objectives.
  • Prepare and review daily and weekly health status reports for mission stakeholders.
  • Performed correction of onboard clock and gyro drifts through periodic calibration procedures—synchronizing spacecraft clock with ground reference time and estimating gyro drift rates via inertial hold operations to maintain accuracy in attitude and time-tagged command execution.
  • Prepare detailed mission plans and flight procedures for nominal and contingency operations for space missions.
  • Planning, scheduling, execution, and reporting of real-time operations from LEOP to decommissioning spacecraft.
  • Develop and implement methods and software scripts for operational automation to reduce day-to-day operator responsibilities.
  • Design and execute strategies for testing, simulation, and validation of mission/fault/autonomy design.
  • Preparation of payload operations support (Payload operating procedures, calibration procedures, commissioning procedures, etc.)
  • Support ground segment design and test, including command and control, mission data processing, and the associated infrastructure to support all activities.
  • Interface with ground station networks, spacecraft manufacturers, and payload development teams to ensure smooth coordination of mission activities.
  • Conduct critical ground segment testing, including radio-frequency compatibility testing, remote ground facility interface testing, and acceptance testing of critical ground assets/locations
  • Participate in formal Mission Rehearsal events to train the mission team and to validate the mission design
  • Contribution to operational documentation (Flight Operational Handbook, Mission Operations Plan etc)
