• I interned at Bethany House Homeless Shelter in Terre Haute, Indiana, for 160 hours. Here, I met homeless families that were single women or married couples and interacted with them by making goals to save money, look into jobs, and help them get back on their feet. I helped with giving families, clothes, food, temporary housing, and case management. They had a waitlist, and I also called the people on this list to see if they were still in need and if we had available rooms for them or not.
• I interned at Ryves Youth Center in Terre Haute, Indiana, for 160 hours. This after-school program is for children with nowhere to go while their parents are working. Here, I worked with children and adolescents between the ages of 3-17. Here, I helped children feel accepted and motivated and helped with programs that promote physical, educational, and social development. They offered tutoring, mentoring, counseling, and dinner for every child.
