Accomplished researcher with a PhD in Neuroscience specializing in molecular biology, biochemistry, and neonatology. Track record of driving high-impact publications and successful training programs in neonatal care, supporting record admissions and fellowships at Northwell Health. Skilled in developing innovative in vitro assays, conducting advanced animal experiments, and mentoring the next generation of scientists. Passionate about exploring the role of SNPs, nutritional genomics, epigenetic mechanisms, and cholinergic control in immune responses for impactful diagnostics and treatments. Committed to collaborative research and advancing medical science for improved patient outcomes.
Aided PIs and Neonatologists in comprehending complex molecular aspects within the fields of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, meeting performance benchmarks for standardization purposes.
High Impact publications attracting more quality candidates for NICU program at North well Health (2 units put together did help 140 admissions at any given time) and intake of almost 16-18 NICU fellows (~3 batches of 1, 2 and 3rdyear)
Help guide NICU and Neonatology attendees to complete and graduate their program with almost 100% success, with respect to training and compliance within Institute standards. Worked with a team of 20-40 employees to manage the various projects, in nephrology and in neonatology, overseeing funds valued << $4-5 million Family Foundation / Institute Research funds/ collaborative grants as well NIH grants (Nephrology) (Period of 9 years).
• Did help publish 15-20 odd publications from the work performed in Nephrology, Neonatology and in Neuroscience and did help submission of > 60-70 abstracts (all combined together) for various local, State level, national and international exhibits and conferences (ISN/ASN, PAS, International society on Sepsis etc.).
Cholinergic control of the immune response has been demonstrated through in vitro and ex vivo experimentation. It has a lot of commercial potential in future diagnostics and treatment.
• Help understand Epigenetic mechanisms in pulmonary functions, podocyte related pathology in HIV and in diabetes and did help establish pulmonary issues in Congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH)
