• Interpretation of the Narmada river Water Disputes Tribunal Award of 1979 and preparation for its revision
• Progress monitoring of the Sardar Sarovar Project at the Head Office
• Sardar Sarovar Dam operation, maintenance and related issues
• Preparation of Narmada water use calender

• Overall management of the construction of the remaining canal network in Patan and Banaskantha districts.
• Overall operation, maintenance and repairs of canals in Patan and Banaskantha districts
• Expenditure planning, monitoring and control
• Quality assurance and monitoring.
• Irrigation management in those two districts covers about 215,000 hectares over three seasons.
• Preparing irrigation water use plan and monitoring
• Land acquisition and possession
• Handling emergencies in canals operation
• Stake-holder grievances redressal and co-ordination on continuous basis for optimum use of water for irrigation and drinking

• Overall monitoring of construction, maintenance, and repair of the Saurashtra branch canal, the largest branch of the Sardar Sarovar Project, along with 10 other major canals in Central Gujarat.
• Management of commissioning of extremely large pumping stations on the Saurashtra Branch Canal as the project manager.
• Monitoring, control and reporting of expenditure
• Irrigation management in about 650,000 hectares.
• Overall management of domestic water supply to Saurashtra and Kutch

• Overall, the technical in-charge and head of the engineering wing working for Saradar Sarovar Project Affected Families (PAFs) will perform the following:

1) Resettlement-related construction of roads, water supply networks, electricity, sanitation, and housing.

2) maintenance and repairs of the assets

3) Grievances redressal under the supervision of the Honorable Supreme Court constituted Grievance Redressal Authority.

4) Providing for physical and economic benefits under the package of the state government.

5) Creating and managing irrigation infrastructure for the oustees of the project.

6) stake-holder co-ordination like state govt deptts, Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam, district Collector

7) Ground truthing of the situation of PAFs
