- Associated with the Trade and Transaction Reporting team for NatWest Markets (NWM), the investment banking arm of NatWest Group (formerly known as The Royal Bank of Scotland), serving its commercial and institutional clientele across APAC, UK, EU, and US regions.
Some of my notable contributions and recognitions at NatWest include the following:
- Initially started working as part of the EMIR Exotics & ETD (venue trades) team and reporting of structured products using the SAF platform, Proxima, and Rates Trader. Developing CSV submissions to report the trades under FCA and ESMA regulations before ESMA and FCA refit.
- Performing exception management in EMIR reporting of collateral and valuations, and training new joiners in the team.
- Performing post-production checks and analyzing the root cause of system gaps using regulatory reporting. Adding, using XMLs to do the transaction and valuation submissions to avoid reporting breaches in case of any issues.
- Identified significant gaps in reporting and processes, assisted with the drafting of error notifications to the FCA, and strengthened controls within the systems responsible for regulatory reporting. I am recognized with 1 LOV award ("Living Our Values" - equivalent to 'Employee of the Month') within a span of 1 year as of now, for demonstrating NWG values of ambition, curiosity, and robustness.
- Handling client and delegated reporting queries from different regions, and providing them with resolutions under FCA and ESMA regulations.
Skill sets acquired include the following:
• Gained significant product knowledge across fixed income, credit, and ETD (futures and options) instruments, and the regulatory reporting framework for EMIR, CSA, ETD, etc. • Interpersonal skills: structured thinking, stakeholder management, and giving and receiving feedback in the workplace.
• Technical skills: Atlassian's Confluence and JIRA for project management and issue tracking.
