Project: Design and development of Locomotive Carbodies

Client: Alstom, Bangalore

Responsibility:

• Developed 3D models and detailed 2D drawings of locomotive carbody components using SolidWorks, ensuring compliance with GD & T standards and manufacturability requirements.
• Created assembly models and manufacturing drawings, incorporating sheet metal, plastic and machined components, while adhering to company standards and industry best practices.
• Reviewed and redlined engineering drawings based on CCB decision, ensuring all design modifications were properly documented and validated.
• Processed ECOs and ECRs by collaborating with cross-functional teams. Incorporating updated in CAD models and revising technical documentation.
• Addressed production and manufacturing issues by analyzing design feasibility, modifying CAD models, and coordinating with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve fitment and assembly challenges.
• Worked closely with FEA teams to incorporate stress and fatigue analysis results into CAD models, ensuring structural integrity while optimizing designs for weight and cost
