  • I was invited to join pathways as Hod and develop the IB curriculum and department refurbishment, we increased student enrolment to 35 students in DP and was recently accredited by CP this year with our first batch of CP taking Design as the core topic.
  • We also went through CIS inspection which was very successful and developed MYP courses in the workshop, led a team of 5 teachers training them in both DP and MYP Design.
  • I recently attended Data health and safety accreditation in Singapore.

  • I introduced Graphic Design and Product Design at GCSE and A level and, this initiative was met with a very successful uptake from students.
  • When I first arrived, there were only 10 students who had opted for Resistant Materials in Design Technology but within the years that followed the interest grew to the point where the Department was oversubscribed, with over 100 students in Yrs10-13.
  • In my final year over 30 students completed Graphic Design and 15 of these opted for AS levels.
  • The Department is extremely well equipped and, the standards set were very high.

  • Pathways is a new school and DT was a very new subject in India, I set up the curriculum in line with IGCSE resistant materials and graphics, then implemented both traditional hands-on projects alongside interactive learning using the Internet.
  • In addition, I helped set up the Department, recommended equipment as well as software and developed a web site which allowed students to access DT online via the intranet.
  • This provided the ideal way of facilitating IGCSE/IB rather than just teaching, to this end I continue to use interactive intranet lessons alongside practical lessons.

  • IGCSE results 80% A - C grades, which were achieved within a year.
