- Audit borrower credit reports, DTI calculations, income/employment, assets/reserves, and AUS findings (DU/LP).
- Recalculate borrower qualifications to ensure data integrity and compliance with applicable guidelines.
- Confirm the presence and accuracy of all required credit documentation: pay stubs, tax returns, W-2s, VOEs, bank statements, etc.
- Analyze creditworthiness of borrowers across different loan products: Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA.
- Identify material deficiencies in underwriting decisions or risk layering that could affect loan salability.
- Document all findings in the QC system and assign severity levels per company/investor guidelines.
- Recommend corrective actions or escalation for high-risk loans or systemic issues.
- Collaborate with underwriting and compliance teams to address trends in credit deficiencies.
- Stay current with investor/agency credit policy updates and industry changes.
- Participate in internal or external audits and provide file-level responses when required.
