- Key responsibility involves Automating and testing Certification cross product integration Pillar and FS-DS (File System and Data services) for ISILON Scale out NAS Storage.
- Leaded various project like FTChaos (Automation Framework Design), NDMP (Network Data Management Protocol) and LFN (Long file name)
- Leaded FT Pillar and developing FTChaos Automation Framework for Central Test team, this framework has different modules like FTChaos Server, Chaos Engine, Sqlite DB, Infra libs, generic libs, Isilon Onefs libs, global settings, test suites etc
- FTChaos Engine is core of this framework, which is 24x7 running engine, which runs N number of tests over all clusters which are registered for ftchaos. This framework spawns N number of processes for each cluster registered to it, this test uses Python unit test framework. Once any full iteration of FTChaos engine is completed it takes next iteration by scanning Chaos DB and repeats process again. This framework was incremental developed which includes test to induce external faults from different external system over NAS Isilon storage
- NDMP Testing deals with testing Backup and Restore data of Isilon Box using NDMP protocol, it involves testing 2 way and 3-way backup Topology
- 2-way topology involves testing Backup of Isilon box using FC port over Data domain VTL’s or Real Tape Library, 3-way topology involves taking backup of Isilon data using DDBoost protocol over Data Domain Storage
- This also involves testing with various DMA (Data management application) like Networker, NetBackup, NDMPC etc
- New feature testing carried out for Cloud Pools 2.0 support, Redirector etc Automation is centered around writing Python scripts using Python Unit test framework and enhancing and improving existing automation around same.
- As part of LFN Project, written libraries to generate different encoding character like UTF-8, EUC-JP, ISO-8859-X etc. Also written library to create different types of Long file names (>255 bytes) on SMB and OneFS Share in different encoding and to test LFN is opt out for NFS Share. Mostly involved in encoding testing and encoding related escalation bugs verification, touched upon various features like SyncIQ, NDMP, FilePools etc. To hook in LFN lib to generate Long file names in each Automation module.
