Have worked as an IRS officer in Income Tax Department for last 33 years in various capacities starting from Asst. Commissioner to Chief Commissioner of Income Tax. Being a quasijudicial authority the orders being appealable in various courts including Hon’ble Supreme Court and Hon’ble High Court, proper knowledge of Accounts, Law and provisions of Income Tax Act, is necessary. Knowledge of functioning of various tax payers in Corporate and Non-corporate sector is necessary, including knowledge of Law and Finance for effective functioning, being a part of an organization responsible for revenue mobilization and mitigation of grievances of tax payers. Due to varied experience, had to deal with taxpayers in corporate sector including matters relating to recovery of tax. So, am well aware of the functioning of various tax payers operating in corporate sector related to functioning, cash flow etc.
As have qualified the Limited Insolvency Examination. Therefore, am well versed in Insolvency & Bankruptcy code, Company Law and Legal matters relating to it. Have also qualified as a valuer of plant and machinery in accordance with syllabus and curriculum determined by IBBI, under Rule 5 of the Companies (Registered Valuers and Valuation) Rules, 2017.
I have been trained in Law, Advanced Accountancy, Industrial Management & Industrial Finance during Professional Course for IRS officers at National Academy of Direct Taxes (NADT), as Management trainee in HAL and during various Mid-Career courses in IIM, Ahmedabad, Duke University, MDI Gurgaon and various other short-term courses.
Further, being an Engineer and being trained in Industrial Management during Induction training nearly six months, of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited Staff College, and having worked in a premier public sector, dealing with Aircraft Manufacturing, had first head exposure to working of an Industry and of Industrial Management.
Joined as Management Trainee in Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and was given basic management training programme for 6 months before induction, in HAL staff college, Bangalore, to expose the newly recruited Engineers to Industrial management before being deployed as Engineer, who were the frontline Managers in HAL supervising over Junior Officers and workers in the Industry.
