As Vice President of Sales and Marketing, I lead the sales, marketing, and trading divisions of the business, working closely with our service center to deliver processed steel material to industries and clients. My role is a blend of strategic leadership, business development, operations oversight, and client relationship management, with a strong focus on driving growth and providing value-added, one-stop steel solutions.
- Sales & Marketing Leadership: Head overall sales operations for the trading division, aligning with the service center for material processing and delivery to clients across diverse industries.
- Market Strategy & Business Growth: Stay updated with market trends to increase revenue, design strategies for capital growth, and reduce credit risks by collaborating with channel finance partners.
- Pipeline & New Product Development: Initiated a new MS Pipe Water Supply Project Division in December 2022, achieving over ₹150 crore in business to date.
- Customer Relationship Management: Act as the point of contact (POC) for clients – personally handling lead generation, follow-ups, deal closures, and meetings. Conduct regular client visits to strengthen long-term relationships.
- Operations & Production Oversight: Monitor daily sales targets, per-day production, and dispatch reports.
Coordinate with the production, finance, administrative, supply chain, and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery.
Visit production sites regularly, interact with workers, review processes, and provide solutions for efficient production and supply chain flow.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and guide sales teams to achieve targets, support them in building strategies, and ensure alignment with company goals.
- Business Expansion & Strategic Buying: Manage TMT buying and selling strategies, controlling procurement from RINL (Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited).
Collaborate with B2B partners, and establish MoUs for regular material supply.
- End-to-End Business Management: Act as the whole and sole driver of the sales process, while keeping oversight of buying, selling, production planning, material flow, CRM, logistics, and overall business performance.
- Marketing Leadership: Collaborated with third-party marketing teams to manage the company’s brand presence, digital platforms, website, and overall online identity, ensuring strong visibility in the steel industry.
- Worked on major infrastructure and industrial projects, including Metro Projects, BMRCL, pre-engineering projects, automotive industries, and water supply projects.
- Brands handled: TATA, JSW, SAIL, RINL, JSPL, and leading local brands.
- Supplied material to top clients such as Ashok Leyland, NCC (Nagarjuna Constructions Company), Nagarjuna Constructions, BSR Infratech India, Shankar Narayan Constructions, AJAX, and others.
- Delivered year-on-year profit growth, averaging a 20% increase annually.
- Successfully created and scaled the MS Pipe Water Supply Project Division to ₹150 Cr+ turnover within two years.
- Increased volume and revenue by implementing innovative financing strategies to lower credit risk.
