Project : Concur Business Travel and Expense Management
Role: SAP CPI Technical Consultant
Duration: June 2022 – January 2024
Environment: SAP CPI, SAP ERP, SAP Concur, REST, SOAP, SFTP, XML, JSON, Message Monitoring, Component Monitoring, Runtime Workbench.
Project Description:
SAP Concur is a travel and expense management solution integrated with enterprise resource planning (ERP), human resources (HR), payroll, and accounting systems. The project involved developing and supporting inbound and outbound interfaces between SAP and Concur to exchange employee master data, expense report approver information, and travel reimbursement details. The outbound interface generated a consolidated data file on a scheduled weekly basis for active employees and valid expense report approvers, while the inbound interface processed reimbursement information from Concur for posting to SAP financial journals and employee payroll processes.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Analyzed business requirements and functional specifications to understand interface requirements, data structures, validation rules, and integration dependencies between SAP and Concur.
- Supported the development, configuration, and maintenance of SAP CPI integration flows for inbound and outbound data exchange between SAP ERP and Concur.
- Supported outbound interfaces that generated employee master data and expense report approver information for scheduled transmission to Concur.
- Assisted in processing inbound travel and expense reimbursement data from Concur into SAP to support financial accounting and employee reimbursement processes.
- Configured and supported communication channels and integration endpoints based on interface requirements, including file-based data exchange and secure file transfer where applicable.
- Monitored communication channels and interface components using SAP CPI Component Monitoring to identify connectivity issues and processing failures.
- Performed message monitoring and analyzed message processing logs to investigate failed interfaces, identify root causes, and support timely resolution of integration issues.
- Utilized Runtime Workbench and available monitoring tools to review message status, component health, interface execution, and runtime errors.
- Validated source and target data, reviewed payload structures, and supported troubleshooting of data transformation and interface processing errors.
- Supported defect analysis, retesting, and deployment validation to ensure successful delivery of integration changes.
- Provided production monitoring and operational support, documented recurring issues, and maintained interface support documentation to improve integration reliability.
