Influence of aluminum on corrosion resistance in Cantor alloy system

  • Inspecting the aqueous corrosion properties of Cantor alloy (Co-Cr-Fe-Mn-Ni) and observing the change in corrosion behavior with Al addition
  • Track down the causes of the variation in corrosion resistance after Al addition
  • Electrochemical polarization of the Al-cantor alloy using a potentiostat in a standard three-electrode cell.
  • Plotting the polarization data and extracting the corrosion parameters, like Tafel slopes, corrosion potential, corrosion current density, etc
  • Comparing the polarization curve with the parent Cantor alloy to deduce the corrosion behavior of Al-added Cantor alloy.

Characterization of weld zones and corrosion mapping in EBW Al 5083 joints

  • Evaluating the corrosion behavior of the electron beam-welded Al 5083 alloy with a potentiostat in a three-electrode setup in a seawater environment
