• Health & Safety Management
• Developing safety management plans and overseeing the implementation of the same as per the guidelines; preparing daily, weekly and monthly status reports to monitor the compliance.
• Developing contractor safety management guidelines and number of safety motivational / training programs for improved safety culture within organisation.
• Conducting periodical mock drills & creating awareness; organising HIRA (Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment) and undertaking Aspect & Impact Study for smooth operations.
• Environmental Management
• Overseeing establishment & maintenance of systems as per environmental standards; reviewing policies /procedures and suggesting improvements.
• Conducting audits on hazards & environmental risk assessment, updating and ensuring the compliance to legal requirements.
• Ensuring adherence to operational environmental standards, compliance assurance and handling documentation.
• Emergency Control Measures/Loss Prevention
• Devising and implementing emergency response plan for in-plant operations; advising personnel on fire fighting facilities/equipment.
• Conducting audits / mock drills to ensure the fire prevention measures are in place and to identify the areas for improvement.
• Determining the nature of hazards & instructing action plans in event of any emergency and also suggesting necessary measures for the better conditions of the work environment. Conducting regular meetings at each construction & operational area.
• Training:
• Imparting training on safety policies, procedures, loss prevention principles.
• Training of personnel for use of fire protection systems, Occupational health, Emergency preparedness.
• Conducting Safety Kick–Off meeting with new contractors to make them aware regarding the HSE requirements during execution of their jobs.
• Imparting periodical demonstration & training amongst the workforce of all construction & operational unit; organising training for the personnel on emergency preparedness.
• HSE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Interface with area superintendents on a daily basis to understand what field activities are to be performed in order to provide site safety cover.
• Successfully established safety programmes & procedures on site along with a Safety and Health Committee.
• Provide necessary support to ensure that project HSE Plan and procedure and developed and implemented throughout the entire project life.
• Preparation and implementation of Job safety analysis, Work permit Risk assessment, Aspect register and Critical lift plan before commencement of any critical job.
• Conduct and develops HSE Training modules & emergency drills for GPLD site office.
• Prepared the Training Matrix to ensure that the Project Teams are adequately competent, trained and briefed to execute assignments.
• Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment for all work place and plant (HIRA).
• Implement the site hazard identification programs (Including Sub Contractors).
• Preparation of client’s Monthly safety report internal weekly / monthly safety report and monthly Environment report
• Conducting training on Emergency preparedness and organizing emergency evacuation drill for company employees.
• Inspection of rendering advice for segregation and safe disposal of Toxic Waste and Hazard/ Non Hazard Waste and keeping record of waste manifest.
• Promoting HSE Culture at site and organizing HSE award function to reward the workers and staff for their outstanding HSE performance.
• Provide a daily summary report of field HSE issues and activities including,HSE documentation,Risk assessment,JSA,Toolbox talk produced,etc,for the site HSE Manager.
• Carried out PTW daily auditing, organized daily HSE inspection and apprised the HSE Manager about the same.
• Performed inspections for Heavy Equipments like crane, machinery, first aid box, lifting gear, etc., Electrical Equipments like Welding Machine, Power Generator & Electrical Panel, Compressed Gas Cylinder, etc. as well as managed the Independent Scaffolding.
• Organised Safety Induction, Auditing, Training, Toolbox and Safety Meeting.
• Submitting Monthly activity plan and emergency action plan to project manager.
• Conducting Safety Induction training for new employee.
• Conducting daily & weekly site safety inspection for monitoring unsafe acts & unsafe conditions.
• Conducting Tool Box Talk before starting the job, consecrate the employee for proper use & operation of P.P.E (Personal Protective Equipment)
• Conducting various specific training related to job such as, Working at Height Training, Manual & Mechanical Handling Training, Housekeeping etc.
• Monthly basis meeting with contractor’s representative and staff.
• Display of safety posters and slogans at all prominent location.
